What do you suggest Admin should do about it?
To be honest, there isn't perhaps much Admin can do about it. At first, I thought about "quotas" of time or words allocated to a specific group to prevent the over-representation of a particulat one. I think he has tools to perform some calculatons first. Let's say he counts the number of characters printed by
Jon357,
Delphiandomine and
Harry together over certain periods of time, say: one month, three months, six months and one year (these figures should be adjusted for the times of suspensions, however) and then present it as a percentage of the total number of characters printed by all members of the PF. Guests and off-topic bin should be excluded. I think we would have received interesting results and who knows, maybe these results would remind us of the distribution of wealth on the planet where the top 1% own 50% of total wealth!
If not that, it would be fairer on the part of Admin to do the minimum and at least change the motto of the site from "The ultimate guide to Poland" into "The subjective
British guide to Poland" which would reflect the state of affairs as they are.
This is an English language medium forum. Poland is in Europe. It therefore follows that British people resident in Poland will be "over-represented". On an English language forum in, say, Mexico, North Americans would appear more often than, say, British
What I have objected more to was not the British presence in itself, but the presence of "British brilliance" represented by many British members on the forum. I'm not saying that
all British persons here indulge in British Brilliance. One such moderate British person is Rozumnienić (although she obviously has her little raids into that direction, too). Personally, I would also include yourself,
Roger, into that group (despite your constant clashes with JR) and also Delph, since he is often rather more deliberately provoking than genuinely "British-brilliant". Another such person was perhaps Pam who recently revealed herself again on the PF as guest "Chemikiem", though she as a moderator was once fiercly accusing me of a thing that I had not done. On the other hand, we have the most extremely "British-brilliant" persons among whom I count
Dougpol1 (I hope his dog is different) and to some extend
Smurf, although the latter is Irish, but there are always people who try to be more papist that the pope.
Do you think the over use (ABUSE) of alcohol may play a part in this Ziemowit ?
Judging by the detailed information on alcohol and drinking revealed from time to time by a certain member, I may agree with that. It is not rocket science, but your four sentences so rightly, I would even say, British-brilliantly :), describe the roots for the drinking problem experienced by many people, not only by the PF members
They drank for joy and became miserable.
They drank for sociability and became argumentative
They drank for sophistication and became obnoxious
They drank for friendship and made enemies
