Russian state media proudly shares footage of a tank doing a "Mariupol drift" bootleg turn in the city's ravaged streets. The T-80BV then tramples some random stuff just to make it clear who's boss.

Wonderful drift dear tankist.

Turkey not tankist, Russian tankists should be called that. They are being fried in big numbers.
Is not a rarity but a street food in Ukrainie.
Maybe its Ukrainian drift? You know tanks trying to avoid javelins, drons and artillery shells - a new and rather desparete mesure to avoid being fried.

Proud of destruction and killing civilians... everytime I think Pootin's supporters can't go any lower.... they prove me wrong.

Despicable nation and despicable people who support it.

Just when you wonder if it's possible for russian humanoids to sink even lower...

"Russia descends even deeper into medieval barbarism, as a pundit argues on state TV that the exits at Azovstal should be sealed off with concrete. Host prefers the idea of capturing Ukrainians and showing them at public markets, allowing anyone to do "whatever they want" to them."

capturing Ukrainians and showing them at public markets, allowing anyone to do "whatever they want" to them."

That, apart from the public markets, is exactly what has been going on in Ukraine since 24 February, so it's not really surprising to hear it from the presenters. It's the same thing that the Russian troops have been told. 'Do whatever you want to them'. What struck me most was the smirking female presenter. I won't call her a woman. She doesn't deserve the dignity of that title.

2,000 Ukrainians celebrate their Easter in a Roman Catholic church in Dublin, a church I know well. Went to mass there many times over the years. It's just an average, local suburban church, so strange for me to think that it's filled with Ukrainian people today. The Ukrainian national anthem was sung as part of the service.

Fr Kornitsky, who has been living in Ireland for the last 10 years, said while the national anthem would not usually be sung at mass he felt it was important as many Ukrainians were feeling "very lonely today". He said 'You see the Easter baskets with the blessed foods and that food should be taken home and shared with the family at a family dinner, but there is no one to share it with. Not only that, some people don't have access to a kitchen to prepare the food as they're staying in hotels. People feel very homesick today and that's why I did anything that I could just to boost their spirits and I think that's what people needed."

Oh please, we're really desperate today aren't we? But as we're on the subject .................

Putin's "bloated face and neck could be potential side effects of prolonged use of steroids"

That's a quote from one of your own oft quoted sources. Guess which one?

as a pundit argues on state TV that the exits at Azovstal should be sealed off with concrete.

Now that the Azovstal has been sealed, neo-nazi terrorists would have turned into cannibals.

So they took a thousand civilians with them down there, to have something to eat when the going gets rough... :)

Yulia Sviridenko, Minister of Economy: Ukraine will become a full member of the EU in 2024

Well....as I read recently Von Der Leyen had given Zelensky the "Fragebogen" as she met him in Kiev, a questionnaire that is the first step to begin the process to become a member. And Ukraine had given it back already, completed filled in....so....

Selenskyj hands over questionnaire on EU accession

zeit.de/news/2022-04/18/selenskyj-uebergibt-fragebogen-zu-eu-beitritt

....Selenskyj himself spoke of a "historic event". "Every state that has joined the EU has gone through the same procedure with the questionnaire," he said in a video message . "The only difference is that it took them years. It was just a little over a week for us." Ukraine will send further answers "soon". "And we expect that the European response will be swift." ....

...that complete crew uses some very strong drugs...

Maybe it isn't the drugs!

I wonder how bright all those Russian soldiers are glowing after sleeping in those highly radioactive trenches in Chernobyl ?
Has anyone heard how they are doing ?
To think those poor kids were ordered to do such a stupid thing.

That, apart from the public markets, is exactly what has been going on in Ukraine since 24 February

Good point. I find it amazing how little public outcry there is in the West and how pathetically inadequate the current sanctions are. Of course, the nazi criminals have nukes, so direct military intervention is impossible, but why keep any diplomatic relations with them? Why trade or do any sort of business with them? Can't we just accept the thought of being slightly less well-off and sacrificing some of the wealth we have to properly fight this inhumane monstrosity? Have we become so used to prosperity that there is nothing that could make us give it up? It reflects rather sadly on what humanity in general has become.

Maybe we do indeed live in final times if certain heads of apostate churches, like Comrade Francis for example, refuse to even condemn russian crimes in Ukraine, let alone do anything to stop them. Oh, well... everything is in the hands of God. Our Lord Jesus Christ will come back one day and woe to those who out of cowardice or greed did nothing to stop this horrible evil.

why keep any diplomatic relations with them?

When the war started I was all for immediately kicking the Russian embassy out of Ireland but the government said that they wanted to keep diplomatic relations open in order to protect the handful of Irish citizens in Russia as they would be without consular assistance. After a couple of weeks they also said that having eyes and ears in Russia was one of the few ways we have of knowing what's actually going on there at a ministerial level, which is a fair point. Spying basically. That's why we have to keep 'diplomatic' ties open.

the thought of being slightly less well-off

I agree completely. I grew up in a succession of inadequately heated, uninsulated old houses in eternally damp and chilly Ireland and I don't need central heating. You heat one room if possible and that's all you need. A hot water bottle and a blanket over your legs, a few extra layers of clothes, plenty of hot drinks...... let the elderly have the fuel they need and those of us who are healthy enough can manage.

Comrade Francis for example, refuse to even condemn russian crimes in Ukraine, let alone do anything to stop them.

Sorry, but I think that old demon at the head of the Orthodox church is far worse than Francis.

There is a a clause that states that if one member is attacked the others must come to their assistance 'with all possible means'.

All avoidable. The destruction is estimated at 7 trillion.

Oh I see, so if Ukraine would had been the EU member they would have had casted all those heavy Questionnaires at the nearest Russian diplomatic post?

France and Germany would only talk about doing it. I guess that is more than enough of the mighty EU help.

Ukraine outside of NATO/EU

NATO? We were talking about EU. Do you mean it is a first step on the way to NATO membership?

Bratwurst Boy
24 Apr 2022  #25

You don't seem to know much about the EU, that's why I posted the link....

An EU-army would be the next step to the current Common Security and Defence Treaty....but even so, it would be fatal to underestimate it.

Since 2002, the European Union has intervened abroad thirty-five times in three different continents.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_Security_and_Defence_Policy#/media/File:Map_of_EU_interventions_overseas.svg

We did so in the Balkans, we would do it of course for an EU-member Ukraine!

What do you think about a real EU-Army?

I think that Army is like a Big Foot. People talk about it a lot, make films, write a lot of articles but in fact nobody ever had seen that creature.

Anway some of your MEPs already said that the main role of the new EU- Army will be a duty to ensure that the rule of law is respected in Poland. It sound like a threat to me.

There is barely enough food, supplies and medicine for the Russian troops

And a lot of hard evidence of them stealing food and warm clothes from Ukrainians.

Mind you, I did laugh when those old people in a village in north Ukraine made piroshkis laced with concentrated agricultural insecticide.......

LOVING COCAINE

Who doesn't? Certainly a fair few people reading this and a lot of politicians worldwide. I'd like him less if he didn't. Many if not most TV presenters and reformers too; it's what makes them perky. I was a contestant on a well enough known game show once and the presenter was back and to from the dressing room with his nose twitching. The make-up staff are used to dabbing traces off before they go on camera. If President Zelenskiy like the occasional spliff too, then good on him.

Putin however looks spaced out on a drug that is far less pleasant.

Not going well at all for the orcs, is it...

...it wasn't even in the talks before the Yugo-war....and till Trump NATO ruled....and now with Russia running amok...people are starting to come around.

It sound like a threat to me.

Crap!

Such an army wouldn't be a security force or something...not to mention that Poland will hopefully play a big part in it!

what made Putin thinking he could invade it without many problems....

Many problems??? Thousands of dead Russians are a problem to Putin. Now, he really has to show that it was worth it and the probability that Russia will keep what it has is 100%. No, they will not say, oops, sorry, the way the US did in Afghanistan, Libya, and Vietnam, turn tail, and go back home. Too many dead Russians for this.

BTW, how about going further back...If NATO dissolved or stayed put where it was in 1990, would Russia be in Ukraine today?
No, it would not.

Thousands of dead Russians are a problem to Putin.

I doubt he cares!

Experts say he never expected that many killed russian soldiers...he truly counted on it being quick and over on time for the 9th May victory parade!

Yes, I think he believed he could "do it" without many problems...an easy start for the rebuilding of the old Empire....

If NATO dissolved or stayed put where it was in 1990, would Russia be in Ukraine today?
No, it would not.

If Ukraine would be a member of NATO or EU, would Russia be in Ukraine today?

No, it would not!
