I use a doctor in PL when I'm in PL, and (in theory) a doctor in the UK if I fall ill there. The last time I went to my GP in the UK was a decade ago and that was for a work screening and checkup.

Hard to know why you think I've not 'funded' it, since I worked for years in the UK without a break before leaving and have worked there many times since, including last year (sorry Grubasku, I paid real NI not class 2 or 3 expat payments you first heard of today). I'll also get a limited Polish one having paid into the system there, however my UK one will also be limited if I live elsewhere after retirement.
