You need to understand manufactured consent, basically US media self censores for a number of reasons.

The development of the internet is just a sugar rush with blogging and commenting. The best description of it I have heard was my colleagues comment, she said "it just gives every dickhead a bigger stage to dance on". Hard to argue with that. With regard to freedom of speech that is supposedly so precious, what do people do with it? The answer sadly is not to question those with power instead its used to call random strangers names on the internet. The Catholic church was opposed to the printing press for very good reasons...basically broadcasting without consequences doesn't end well.

How do you know that those particular comments were posted by AI bots? You simply don't know that.


From what I understood in those comments they were talking about fact-checking on TV by anchors, journalists not fact-checking Trump during press conferences, hence Macron "doing their job", I guess.

On the other hand, Trump makes it harder to be fact-checked by either, for example, not responding to CNN reporter's questions at all or banning important news agencies from meetings altogether:

I think it did. To answer your question directly the media do tone down every time Republicans are in power and oftentimes when the other side of the coin is in power. Media has to get news from somewhere and if they are denied access to sources they suffer financially.


Not really, pumping paid for publications to an uneducated population is just pure propaganda. Look at the vax/crypto/AI nuts today with the internet. Simply giving uneducated or undereducated people information is not empowering and can be downright dangerous. The same whack jobs are usually opposed to universal education.
