On contacts of Polish King and Lithuanian Grand Duke Stefan Báthory with Serbian Monks of Hilandar Monastery
Velika je Poljska and thank Her for helping to its Serbian kin in time of our need, during the Ottoman yoke.
This article reveals one more very important thing. In communication with the Polish Kings, when name people of Poland, Serbian monks using word ``Ledijani``, meaning ``The people from the iceland`` (modern translation North-man). God only knows from which times immemorial coming this designation that is also in our time in focus of the experts. It suggest that old Serbs considered Poles to be their kin from the colder climate. In Serbian `Sever` mean North but word `Ledjani` litterali point to `People that live on ice`. It must be from the era when Balkan was only part of Europe capable to support civilization and then after Ice age people moved to the North along the rivers to repopulate Europe. That people was named `Ledijani`. Those that live on ice or Those that walk on ice.
