EC issues ultimatum to Valonia: support CETA or else?

In the typically dictatorial style for which the EC are known, they have given Valonia unitl Monday (tomorrow) to approve CETA. If signed, that treaty will destroy European agriculture and flood the market with GMO produce and additives widely used in N. America but banned in the EU. Apparently the Schultzes, Junkers, Tusks, Timmermans and their ilk are counting on hefty kickbacks from corporate Canada.

Valonia

Wallonia

flood the market with GMO produce and additives widely used in N. America but banned in the EU.

You obviously haven't read anything about CETA at all.

" CETA will not affect EU rules on food safety or the environment. As now, Canadian products will only be able to be imported to and sold in the EU if they fully respect our regulations. For example, CETA does not affect EU restrictions on beef containing growth hormones or GMOs. "

As Vaclav Klaus said, EU tend to behave as Soviet dictatorial regime.

To put cross on myself and to thank to good God because He keeps Serbia out of EU.

Thnaks for Wallonia, Why then is there such an anti-CETA protest movement across Europe? There is also the argument that huge Canadian corporations will destroy Poland's family-owned farms.

Read the Q and A link I supplied earlier which contains quite a bit of information, and then have a look at this link which sums up the main fears:-

Very interesting but you can see where this is the version of those hwo support CETA. Any major treaty, arrangement or deal has two or more sides, and the apologists for each make it sound like only they are right. The proof of the pudding is in the eating. When and if a deal is reached, only after some time has elapsed will the short-range outcome be known. It may take years for the long-range consequences to be felt. There should be special clauses in the agreement to allow countries to withdraw if certain promises are not kept.

Serbia

That's the problem with Balkanisaiton -- different overlapping splinter ethnicities and scattered enclaves have been and will continue to be a soruce of conlfict and blueprints for disaster. Serbia and Croatia should merge; they are the same nation, speak the same language. Just accept Catholicism and the Latin alphabet and you'll have a fair-sized country rather than two small ones. Romania and Moldova should merge as should Albania and Kosovo.

Serbia and Croatian shouldn`t merge. Our paths differ. Croatia chooses its path with Germanics. Just, those miscalculated who thinks that it would be allowed to Croatia to take Catholic and Orthodox Serbs and their territories along that path. Sure, Croatia would have its path, in its real borders and not in borders as it suits to Germany & Co.

Any major treaty, arrangement or deal has two or more sides,

Of course it does and I think the main worry is that this deal is being seen as a boon only for big businesses and multinational corporations, and if it does go through, then the EU could change regulations at some point in the future. It's also come under fire as being a test model for the recently shelved TTIP agreement between the EU and US.

if a deal is reached

Belgium is supposed to come up with their answer today and if it doesn't then the summit planned for Thursday will be cancelled.

Croatia

The point is not to prolong separate paths but negotiate a reunification settlement. Serbia favoured the commies, but that is in the past. Now a Serbo-Croatia should emerge and not live in the past but look to the future. They would have a combined population of under 12 million which is still very small but better than 7 or 4 million. Slavonia and any other enclaves would disappear

Commies? Nonsense. Serbia was for legal and democratic dissolution of country, if necessary. Then, as all know, Germany recognized Croatia and interrupted political dialogue in former Yugoslavia. Rest is history

Anyway, you may desire whatever you want but, Croatia now belong to German sphere of influence. As such, Croatia making problems to all other countries in the region- to Slovenia, Hungary, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina. So, it would be what must be. It must be retaliated to Germany.

Croatia making problems

What problems can Croatia be creating for others? It is in the EU and Serbia is not.

Just accept Catholicism and the Latin alphabet

Serbians equally using Latin and Cyrillic alphabet.

As for Catholicism, well, some Serbians are Catholics but, for some reason, they are regularly by Catholic Church considered to be Croats.

Also, for your information, during WWII, 40.000 Catholic Slovenians escaped to found shelter among Orthodox Serbs, not in Catholic Croatia, where Nazism went side by side with regional Catholic Church. Go just google to inform yourself about recent Croatian-Vatican disputes. Even in our time Vatican tries to consolidate regional Catholic Church in Croatia that seriously falling in Nazi heresy.

What problems can Croatia be creating for others?

go google on Croatian-Slovenian relations, on Croatian-Hungarian, Croatian-Bosnian, Croatian-Serbian relations. Problem after problem.

As for Catholicism, well, some Serbians are Catholics but, for some reason, they are regularly by Catholic Church considered to be Croats.

This trend occurred after Austro-Hungaria annexation of Bosnia-Herzegovina and Dalmatia, about 150 years ago. Austria took already germanized Croatian elite (that same as today, used Serbian language as official) for strategic partner and promoted Zagreb as regional Catholic center, sending clerics and teachers from Zagreb allover newly annexed territories. Then, Vatican itself started to use term Croats for Catholic Serbs. At first, Catholic Serbs protested (in official letters and documents and loudest were Catholic Serbs of Dubrovnik, where before Austrian annexation majority of population was Catholic Serbian and `Croat` were practically unknown term) but, they were silenced by oppressive Austro-Hungarian regime. So, fate of Catholic Serbs telling also much about how Vatican betrayed even fellow Catholics due to priority of good relations with Germany.

These days we clearly see how Vatican tries to escape from German shadow. What is interesting, Vatican`s first deflection from German influence in the region happened at a time when Austro-Hungaria started preparations for attack on Serbia, what caused WWI. Back then Vatican refused to give its blessing for attack on Serbia and warned that attack on Serbs could have tragic consequences for Austro-Hungaria. Time confirmed this Vatican`s warning.
