Because they actually use them to create stuff. They dont compete for rare minerals in order to sell them, but to use them for the production of highly sophisticated electronics. While Russia is little more than a big gas station.

Indeed. Russia is burning up everything it was and could have been in order to keep the war going. Its' stockpiles from the Soviet Union. More and more of its budget. Money that should have gone into its' infrastructure or scientific development. All gone. Putin is currently throwing the lifes of thousands of Russians away per week just to capture a few more square kilometers. He depopulates a Russian village to capture a destroyed Ukrainian village.

I dont't think you understand how bad this actually is for Russia development? The Russian Army does not pay for the products they buy. The Russian state does. Which gets its' money from the Russian people. Producing a rocket, then selling it to Russian army who fires it at an Ukrainian hospital is not going to make Russia wealthier. All Putin is doing is subsidizing the arms industry at the expense of the Russian population.


Nobody is ever truly prepared for war. That being said, at least we know now that our weapons can intercept Russian missiles, while Russian systems are unable to intercept Himars and our tanks are less likely to launch our crews into orbit. We can work with that.

The way in which the Ukrainians will go after each other... just to explain:

1) First the divisions will be between those who actively participated - whether on the front, in the rear, or through volunteering - and those that "sat it out".

2) The second layer of division will be between those who remained in Ukraine, and those that spent the last three years in total safety in the West.

3) The third will be between the ever diminishing group of Zelensky supporters, and the supporters of the former President Poroshenko. These are already actively blaming each other for the current state of affairs.

Russia, like the US during WW2 and after, will be absolutely fine. Sanctions or no sanctions, they are and can continue to be self sufficient. The US after WW2 was booming, arguably the greatest time in American history for wealth accumulation, population growth, and home building. Russia can and is doing something similar. Ukraine will also be a booming economy for a while during the rebuild, but mainly for companies who already hold the contracts. Those being in the US for the most part.

Strange how Z is now publicly saying Trump can stop Putin, when not long ago he was saying different. Z's political career is about to come to an end with the war. Just how much money from the US has been stolen? What happens to all the weapons in Ukraine that are unaccounted for? The question is not whether the war will end this year, but when and how? Ukraine is not getting back the land it has lost, ane neither country is getting back the men who have died.

I'd be inclined to name the use of glide bombs which has been quite effective and innovative. However those glide bombs have only been effective because Ukraine has a very small air force, few modern anti-aircraft systems and was not allowed to attack the airports from whom those attacks are done. There has been a noticeable decrease in those attacks ever since those artificial restrictions have been lifted.
