For some weird reason, Putin may be regarding Ukraine as part of the USSR ... where the USSR invested a ton of money...just as the US invested a ton in Hawaii and Alaska.

Watching the videos of people saying what America can't manufacture is hilarious. First world country, highest GDP since time immemorial and they can't even make iPhones - a product they invented. Online Social Media garbage can be produced a dime a dozen but cars? Their houses are even made out of paper and cardboard and yet cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. Greatest health-care in the world. No-one can afford it. People are so financially terrified of visiting Doctors they have entire TV shows devoted to people visiting a Doctor for the first time in 20 years just to have some minor issue resolved.


An economy that can't build things unless it brings in cheap labour to cut the grass on their multi-million dollar cardboard mansions because they can't afford to pay a wage that would allow them to own their own house, so now everybody is renting.

Is it an insane idea for Ukraine (without Crimea and other parts occupied by Russia) to become a part of Poland? Then it would automatically become a NATO and EU member and Russian's threat would be over. It would also strengthen the EU to allow it to defeat Russia economically.

It may be the best option overall for the EU, Ukraine, and Poland. Millions of Ukrainians are Polish residents today anyway. The deal could be done quickly. I would call it 4D chess match, but would let Trump to boast ;

...well....I read in this forum that there are alot of historical misgivings between Poles and Ukrainians. Unifying two different people which do not even like each other and see their history differently (one's hero is the others villain) is not a good sign for a common future. A reason the Sovietunion broke up in the first place!

It's in the past, as millions of Ukrainian permanent residents in Poland have proven. Many of them have Polish roots, too.

Russia is not going to allow Ukraine to join NATO. If that's the case, a weakened Ukraine may be well fully occupied by Russia in the next decade or so. It would make Russia even stronger and the EU weaker. Ukrainians need to carefully think about this option, considering Ukraine has only existed for like 36 years. It can become Russia again in 20 years.

Do a referendum in both Ukraine and Poland and find out. I think Poland would like the idea.

People need to understand the conflict. Russia is a big bear and Ukraine is a small stray dog. It's not fair what Russia has been doing, but the reality is they run the show. Posting Ukrainian flags on the Internet or engaging keyboard warriors will not change that. Ukraine should make the best of the deal and what's left from the country.

They won't. They didn't spend all this time fighting for independence from both Poland and RuSSia to become part of Poland again lol A Polish person of all people should be able to understand that.

No, it isn't. It is a wound that both nations only covered with a bandage, it still festers and it wasn't healed properly. And that's just one of many problems Poland would face if Ukraine became part of Poland. The most serious one - RuSSia having a wonderful "justification" to invade Poland (again).

Russia would not attack a NATO country (at least not in the foreseeable future), but they can do whatever they want with Ukraine, to the point of taking 100% of their territory as their own.
