As an antidote to your pan Slav guff about how the Ukrainians are your errant little brothers.

They are lost. They are like sheep.

They bought some Atlanticist mumble-jumbo, about shared values and Christ... and fell for it like some village rubes...

They forgot what is their home, and where they came from.

They thought they could leave us all behind, and join some bright European future.

Now they are stuck with us forever, and there is no European future - not even on the horizon.

We broke them - like little puppies - Western trillions notwithstanding.

You stray from the Truth, brother.

There is no force stronger, no tyrant powerful enough and no chain heavier than a man's desire to be free. Ukraine chose freedom - between the two strains within her soul, the submissive, power-worshipping Russian, and the unruly, freedom-loving Polish, she chose the latter. And Poland shall stand by her side, as an elder sister in suffering and in hope, until the day when freedom's dawn breaks victorious upon both their lands.

We chose, with all the might of our nation - collected through one thousand years of suffering - to stop that choice.

I don't know what will become of Russia. I only know that the age-old model of ruling your country and of exerting power over its citizens has run its course. The only thing that is still supporting the life of Russian ruling class and the old violence-driven system is nuclear weapons. However, both you and I know it - no matter how corrupt and deluded Putin and his cronies are, they are Slavs, and we are not Nazis. They will not drown the world in nuclear fire because the end of their era is near. They will recede into the shadow of history, as many before them did, and the world will go on until Our Lord Jesus Christ returns.

I said I don't know what exactly will become of Russia but she will, of course, remain. She shall not perish. You are God's own people, with your quiet dignity, perseverance, long-suffering and nobility of soul. You are, I think, closer to Christ than Poles with our pride and megalomania, but you have to accept the fact that nothing's eternal except God and you will have to change profoundly. Great changes in history never come without suffering, but they are inevitable and we can't stop or reverse the course of time.

"All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of thing shall be well.", as one English saint once said... or "Everything's well in the universe, as a little bird told me.", as our common friend from Serbia used to say.
