It's tumbleweed here. Apart from Darfur and the places where Sudan stops being Sahel, it's mostly empty. Hard to sustain life for more than a relatively small number of people. Very diverse people; every region around the Sahara is to an extent multicultural. There are different goodies and baddies in different places.

More affordable housing? There is plenty of affordable housing. The problem is not enough high wage jobs and extreme costs for education. Want a cheap house, try not living in an expensive and over crowded city. Try saving instead of spending on designer t-shirts. Its called fiscal responsibility.
Jobs with benfits have not existed since the 80's and he never campaigned on benefits.

I detect a contradiction.

The points above apply to almost all industrial nations and very few are delivering. The reason it takes two wages to secure a mortgage now is due to the crazy economic policies from the right. The off shoring of jobs? again right wing policy.

Off shoring jobs is a left wing policy. Who do you think are the biggest financial donars to democrats? Auto manufacturers, Microsoft, Google and Apple to name a few. Plenty of jobs avaialable in upstate NY for example, and houses in the 200K range in plenty of places. Want to live in NYC though and you better make a lot more money. The problem is people whink they should live in one place, but their income and education say they should live someplace more within their means or social economic ability to climb. People living on a farm raising pigs cant expect to be able to afford a flat in Chicago, and people who can afford to buy a flat in downtown Chicago are going to be more highly educated, from old money, or those who got lucky in business. Thats just fvcking life.

Nonsense, the purpose of the policy was to maximise profit for shareholders. It was not to improve wages or conditions for the people who did the work. Off shoring is 100% a right economic policy. The result of it was that everyone else sold insurance and hamburgers to each other or lived off credit another right wing policy.

Saving a bit of spare change by not eating out for example is condescending. It presupposes that its possible to buy a place with money saved from minor savings.

The largest off shore companies are democratic donars. Thats just a fact. Off shore banking is definitely a right wing policy, but not off shore manufacturing. At least not in the last 40 years. If we are in the 1970's I would agree, and it caused an economic crisis in the US. Its important to recognize the policy shift that has taken place in the US. Like in 1996 Bill Clinton signing the immigration act that allowed for deportations without hearings, a left wing policy then, that has completely reversed in the last four years under Biden.

Is it condescending to say that people who want to get ahead work harder and longer hours than those who wish everything was easier? Want to buy a place in todays world? Work two jobs, save all the money you can, stop spending on stupid things, and you will have no problem doing it. People complaining, more often than not, live beyond their means. Fail to educate yourself? Dont expect to make six figures, and think you can drive a Mercedes. The "want" of most people is a lot more than the "can" of people. Blame that on good advertising, and society placing value on the wrong things.

I had a blowout with my shlt for brains nephew who wants a new truck with payments being $500 a month.
He makes good money but is budgetly impaired.
He eats out five nights a week at $25 a crack or $400 a month, has cable t.v. at $150 a month, smokes a $10 pack of smokes a day ($300 a month), goes out to the bars and drops $50 a week ($200 a month), so I said, there is enough for two new truck payments and he looked ta me with a bewildered look and said, "you don't understand."
I mean honestly PolAm, how do you deal with such mentality in todays world.
And in todays world they have chocolate ice cream in one hand and vanilla in the other, and ask them which one do you want since you only have enough money for one of them.
And the answer will be.......Both.
