@Bratwurst Boy
He is another Ahmed Chalabi.

He is another Ahmed Chalabi.

Maybe....maybe not....right now it seems he is the one figure head the whole opposition can agree on....no matter what else he is!

Former crowned head have that special kind of place in their peoples lifes....I remember monarchies under occupation during WWII where their crowned families also worked as heads of the resistance...

@Bratwurst Boy
He is the only figure head which is a sad situation for your average Iranian to be in. His father was so hated that it was the middle class/business community that forced him out of the country. The problem is that the current regimes in power in the region crush all dissent except the voice of preachers for obvious reasons and in Irans case this resulted in the clergy hijacking a genuine grass roots movement. There is a reason that the largest exporters of a perverted interpretation of Islam try to control the Imans output.

No one likes the mad mullahs but this guy is not the answer. We all know how his Da was imposed and how corrupt and cruel he was. Like Chalabi this guy is the only option th3 bringers of democracy have and he will be a disaster. The highly educated Iranian people deserve better but...

Hard to believe....

Photos from before the revolution show a quite modern, even flourishing country....even striking concerning their women!

Just google: Iran before the revolution

@Bratwurst Boy
Iran is a modern country with a highly educated people being crushed by sanctions, some legal most illegal. The chances of the people being able to choose their own future is low because of vested interests just like in the recent past.

I saw the reports of internet shutdowns and foreign media bans to hide the slaughter of civilians. Imagine if the only democracy in the region© did the same...strike that they did and it was supported by the usual suspects

even striking concerning their women!

This sudden conversion to women's rights is refreshing.

FYI Iran has the worlds highest plastic surgery rates for some reason, they also have an extremely advanced IVF program

....ah....now I get it....the Shah would no longer support the Hamas and probably make Iran a western and even israeli ally! :)

But Barney, all this hate against Israel should still not make you support especially the Mullahs!

Barney

@Bratwurst Boy
I don't support the mullahs or any other ethno religious regime. The Western economy is tied up with the depraved gulf dictators I don't support them either. It's not a case of choose a side it's what are your principals. As an ossi you understand the desire to criticise your rulers but the side you picked is propped up by places that are worse than the former East Germany. They don't allow dissent and promote the worst interpretation of Islam.

It's not about ignoring Palestinian rights and assuaging historical guilt but what is right

Okay....thing is the Iranians are (seemingly seen from afar as Berlin of course) increasingly disenchanted with the consequences of that revolution and the rulership of these Mullahs that were brought into power back then, it smells like a big change, there is hope in the air!

Now for the Palis, I don't see any hope....the Hamas is as strong as ever, they don't want any peace and frankly there don't even seem to be a similiar figurehead the Palis could all agree on...they have still a long way to go!

Hopefully the end of the Mullahs will also bring an end to further support of Hamas...maybe that will bring the Palis closer to peace in the end, who knows....

@Bratwurst Boy
Of course Iranian people want a change of government they are educated and know the wider world. The problem is the destruction of their economy is designed to force a replacement when there is no obvious or capable replacement. This American stooge won't do.

The problem Palestinians face is that they have no government support, the unfolding genocide is facilitated and approved by almost every western government. Their allies in the Arab world have been bought off by their own avarice
. It's understandable that the us would support genocide as it's in their DNA and the Arab dictators have no legitimacy but European countries facilitating genocide is unforgivable. They know what they are doing and don't care, human rights mean nothing to them.

Bratwurst Boy
15 Feb 2026  #880

but European countries facilitating genocide is unforgivable.

Absolutely!

...and just calling it so for political reasons gets worthless quite soon.

Who knows....once they gather to rally for peace like the Iranians did today they will gain more support, currently when they rally in the streets its only for more death and destruction....there is no hope for them, and you can't blame it all the time on someone else! At one point the Palis have to look into the mirror and accept their own actions and their consequences.

Trump has little time left to make America affordable again. If he fails to bring down the prices of everyday items like food, the RINOs are screwed come November..

Alien

prices of everyday items like food

I read that food prices have increased significantly in the USA. In Europe too, but significantly less.

@Alien
Gasoline prices are falling seemingly lower everday. Its around $2.50 per gallon even with all of Illinois high taxes coz of fat boy JB Pritzker.

He tried to put a device in our cars to monitor mileage so he could tax us more, but failed..

Just like he will fail becoming the next President:)

Alien

$2.50 per gallon

How many liters are in a gallon?

Ironside
15 Feb 2026  #885

How many liters are in a gallon?

5 Times cheaper than in Poland.

Tlum
15 Feb 2026  #886

Gasoline prices were relevant 2 decades ago when an average car fuel efficiency was 20 miles per gallon.

Israel has Trump by the balls. America has no money and no business attacking Iran, but Trump feels he has no choice, knowing they want him to do it and they hold all the Epstein files that could easily destroy his presidency. I'm afraid Trump will destroy America before he destroys himself. Perhaps a more honorable option would be to resign..

Really? Even 20 years ago the average car could do 30MPG or more.

Israel has Trump by the balls.

Really?

America has no money and no business attacking Iran,

America has plenty of money and every reason to attack Iran.

Are you a COMPLETE idiot?

Tlum
15 Feb 2026  #888

Even 20 years ago the average car could do 30MPG or more.

Consider a percentage of trucks/SUVs Americans, as opposed to Europeans, own and their MPG.

America has plenty of money and every reason to attack Iran.

How would you interpret this:

"The debt is growing at a rapid pace, with approximately trillion added roughly every 5 months. The total debt is currently over 123% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP)."

Joker

Epstein files that could easily destroy his presidency.

Israel has Trump by the balls...

Another TDS meldown oh boy!

Also funny how you people scream Epstein files! nonstop, yet so far the names and connections being discussed publicly keep leading back to powerful Democrats like Clinton and even British royalty - not the fantasy you're trying to sell.

Resign? No. You're just hoping for political outcomes you can't win through facts or elections.

Democrats controlled the White House and Congress for four years and did nothing with the Epstein files. So why is that, Tlum?

Two jobs. For a combined period longer than you have been alive.

Oh? Sounds like a very 'migrant' experience, doesn't it? Most people outgrow teenage starter jobs before they're even old enough to open a pension account. But hey - when you're British and only speak English in Poland, you've got to make the best of very limited options. Work provides dignity, and at least you found your calling in life.

Most people outgrow teenage starter jobs

Perhaps you should, given your personal circumstances.

Some of us did 'starter' jobs (is that a yank expression?) decades before you were born.

only speak English in Poland

Or even only speak Poilish and occasionally French in PL. We all know that you can't speak Polish; so don't deflect....

In my case (since you seem unhealthily obsessed) I speak Polish in the UK far far more than I speak English in Poland

Finished your probation yet?

Trump is in the center of it.

A classic fool, making a small number of people rich while the rest live rather badly and that situation is getting worse.

Tyre.

Yeah, that's a tourist spot in Lebanon. It has nothing to do with the USA and Poland.

A thriving city. And a coincidence that the name is the same word (and in English the spelling) as the rubber protection on a wheel.

Tyre

I just remembered that tyre (specifically tyrę) is a Polish word, as is tyra and tyry. Not that Bieggers has had much luck recently with his tyry.

I only know the verb "tyrać" which means to work hard. 🤔

jon357
17 Feb 2026  #898

Yes, from that verb. As a noun, it usually just means work, rather like the English tern "the grind".

The Iranian opposition is surely waiting:

Possible strike against the mullahs:

USA ready to attack in Iran from Saturday

bild.de/politik/ausland-und-internationales/trump-erhoeht-druck-auf-iran-groesste-luftstreitmacht-der-usa-seit-irak-krieg-im-anmarsch-6996a2414a95124d25565b5a

....Washington - Things are getting serious! According to reports from CNN and CBS, US President Donald Trump (79) has been informed that the military is ready for a potential attack on Iran on Saturday. According to insiders,

Trump himself has not yet made a final decision on whether to attack. However, dozens of US fighter jets have left their bases in the US and Europe in recent days. Destination: the Middle East. This is the largest air force deployment since the invasion of Iraq in 2003.

This is according to the Military Air Tracking Alliance (MATA), a team of 30 open-source analysts that evaluates military air traffic worldwide. More than 85 tanker aircraft and more than 170 transport planes are already en route to the crisis region, according to MATA.....

Whoa! 😎
