How's Brexit working out for you?
Given that I live here rather than there and am a citizen of an EU country it hasn't made much difference to me. Nevertheless, the UK and EU are likely to develop closer links; and of course the r*SSian interference in that referendum, as well as the Scotland vote and various other countries' elections is likely to lead eventually to a reassessment. Until then, things seem fine over there; and being free of the EU has helped us to help Ukraine stand up to its aggressor.
You don't need to go to Cromwell's time or the Troubles,
Quite; it's hundreds of years ago. What you might concentrate on instead is the very good relations between the two countries right now; something that r*SSia has with pretty well none of its neighbours. I wonder why...
Cross the North Channel, and we're in Scotland - where people similarly can't stand the English and dream of being free.
Aside from you needing a map, you might reflect on the fact that although there was a referendum (with foreign interference), the people of Scotland voted to remain within the UK and that support for separation has declined since that referendum.
Should they change their mind however in the future, there won't however be a 'special operation', there won't be washing machines looted and shipped across Hadrian's Wall, there won't be schools banning teaching of Scottish history and language, there won't be torture, military rape, people being killed by sledgehammers to the head, prisoners being castrated, empty threats of nukes nor attacks on civilian or military infrastructure.
This wouldn't happen since we aren't savages like the r*SSians have clearly shown themselves to be.
You might also reflect that your comment that people in Scotland 'can't stand the English' is bullsh1t. Relations are very warm except where football is concerned and even then we don't hate each other.
Hard to know what you mean about a 'stolen island'. Since you burble on pointlessly about penguins, you are probably trying a silly piece of whataboutery involving the Falklands which have given their allegiance to Britain since before Argentina existed, which is an Overseas Territory of the UK under international law with no ongoing legal disputes and which voted 99.8% to remain as such in a free, fair and honest vote (perhaps it's hard for a r*SSian to understand the concept of free, fair and honest elections or indeed any sort of honesty in public life) and where the residents of the country have made it very clear which flag they want flying over their parliament building. There's very little financial return from the Falklands and very little strategic value however since we aren't r*SSian, we do act based on what is right rather than what is seen as transactionally advantageous.
Meanwhile, in Ukraine (which is not nor ever will be part of r*SSia):
- the headquarters of the r*SSian orc occupiers in Vuhledar has been totally flattened by HIMARS missiles, killing their command staff
- Moscow is losing 300 orcs a day near Vuhledar without making any progress at all
- They lost 1,140 orcs in total yesterday alone, there and on the other parts of the front.
- Moscow has lost a 5,000-strong brigade of orcs from its 'elite' (ha ha) 155th naval infantry in Tavriskie district. According to the appalling Igor Girkin, they were "shot like turkeys at a shooting range"
- The orc attacks today and yesterday on Zaphorizhia have all been successfully repelled.
It's not looking good for r*SSia...
