Yellow Corvette and yellow dress for your wife not my wife, sorry.

My wife, like me, likes to wear black, and black goes well with gold and at least yellow. You don't need to be a faggot to know that...

Just as women struggle with weight problems, men's dilemma is between being practical and sensible vs the opposite - whatever that is. My fear is that one day I will not care about anything, including yellow corvettes. What stops me from getting one is what is actually attractive about these cars. When I see a 2008 'vette with 20k miles and 4 owners I see a car nobody wants to drive. 100 miles a month means it's a trophy car and totally useless. At least they don't depreciate as fast.

You are right, but the 2008 Corvette is the only super sport car available on the market for the price of a new VW Golf. Try it with Ferrari/Lambo & Co. No go.

Show us a picture of it when Chicago gets two feet of snow and they dump tons of salt on the roads and make the snow a salty white slush.

That will do wonders to that black ragtop.
Then come spring when the underneath is all rusted and the road grime dulls the shine of the yellow plastic and it has depreciated $20k I will ask you if your showboat investment was worth it.

Or maybe you are planning on moving to Florida for the winter.
It only has about an 8" clearance so when you get 12" of snow......never mind, I guess I am just being too practical.
For the same money you could have bought a Toyota Tundra Limited 4x4 all decked out that would ride just as smooth and go through 3 feet of snow no problem not to mention being twice as safe and have a six-year bumper to bumper warranty.

And careful where you park it as the boys in the hood like to take cars like that for joy rides to blow the cobwebs out.

This 'vette spent all of its 14 years (it's a 2008 model) in the Detroit area that gets the same amount of snow as Chicago. Nobody sane drives corvettes in winter even when there is no snow. Plus, corvettes usually get summer tires. Those are trophy cars for a short ride to the nearest 31 flavors. They are just pretty.

My problem is that corvettes are the exact opposite to what I like - soft ride and 65 db or less at 70. Car designing geniuses everywhere, not just in the US, decided that if the car has 400hp or more it is "sporty" and, therefore, must be loud and make you "feel the road'. And have those idiotic bolsters. The fact that the average age of the corvette owner is 59 didn't enter into the design specs.

I will check if it's possible to put softer springs and adult mufflers or my corvette dream ends.

That black roof, BTW, was in perfect shape after all these years and 44,000 miles.

That's what I drive now. It looks like a Lexus LS430 but it is a Lada with a cheap plastic kit to fool those dumb Russians.


I should have said "my dream yellow corvette". I will buy it but only if I can make its exhaust quieter. Why young men like loud cars is beyond my ability to understand.

Those little foreign cars with an overbearing loud muffler and the car is struggling to to hit 50mph..lol Even worse are those idiots with the loud bass speaker that you can hear from 3 blocks away. Usually a shine driving it.


Dont buy a vette then. The one I drove was the bumpiest ride I can remember.

The one I drove was in the 90s and it squeezed like a mouse and you felt every bump. Ive never really liked vettes that much as they're too confining.

I have to admit that the SC430 I had for 9 years was one ugly car. I sold it when the roof started making weird noises that couldn't be fixed.

AT 70 MPH CRUISE: 76 dB

2013 RWD Lexus LS460:
0-60 MPH: 5.5 Seconds
AT 70 MPH CRUISE: 62 dB

That 1.1 seconds is meaningless when the driver is sane or over 30. The noise is hell and makes the car unusable for more than 15 minutes. Or if you want to listen to the radio or your wife.

But I still want one before I will not care anymore.

Here in Michigan the State Police use these for Pursuit or Chase cars for speeders.
It's like when you are driving down the expressway at 90mph and all of a sudden you have red & blue lights flashing in your rear view mirror you wonder, "where in the hell did you just come from !"

Because those have no presence. Corvettes do and that's why men want them as trophies or garage dress-up cars.
Plus that I want a convertible. There is nothing like it on those rare days when everything lines up just the right way. I had one for 9 years and I miss it.

Hey Amigos, why do you need so fast cars, what for? As I know you can drive max. 110 kmh or so. What for 807 HP , 80 HP would be enough. 🙂
