That said, Russia has a very weak economy based on exporting natural resources and yet they have 2nd army in the world because they've focused all their efforts just on that.


That is something which is changing rapidly since 2015. What's interesting that Germany's soft power in Europe is going down at the same time since refugee crisis. And also since Trump has decided to slap backbone of a German economy - automotive industry.

It's worth noting that in case of a conflict German industry would get hurt badly without supplies from Poland, Hungary and Czech Republic. And one Polish submarine could also cut off North Stream I and II completely in case of conflict.

The balance is shifting. Germany is still high in hierarchy but you've reached your top level in the past and now you slowly going down. Germany is too weak to rule the Europe and yet to anxious to sit on its ass minding its own business.

Viciously armed drones seem to be the coming thing. America has plenty, so does the UK. Germany doesn't.

I was just getting annoyed with Wolfgang's condescending remarks towards the U.S., Rich.
I posted this a couple of days ago when he claimed that Germany made all the ventilators in the world and that they would not be sharing them with the U.S.

Germany's Draegerwerk said its government placed an order for 10,000 ventilators for intensive respiratory care, the medical gear maker's largest order ever and equivalent to a year's normal production.

I told him now that Ford and GM were going to start mass producing them it popped his bubble.

Please remember that the pro ventilators are designed by two engineers and a dozen lawyers to make them suit-proof, without much regard for cost.
If that "basic trash" does 90% of what's needed to keep alive, I am cool with that. Also, the pro ventilators are stand-alone, need their own pump, filters, CPU, and the ability to communicate and alert. The trashy one needs oxygen from the wall.
