Nicke name Vlad always remind me on glorious days of brat Vlad Tepes. Those were the days.
(smile). I didn't expect it would sound so archaic. Today diminutive name Vlad became popular in Eastern Slavic countries. It can be used as a diminutive form of Vladimir, Vladislav and some other names. Even American press use it as a nickname for Vladimir Putin sometimes. In some hollywood movies there are "Russian" characters with name Vlad. So I didn't expect it would recall such archaic associations.
But I'm guessing you are more Russian than Ukrainian....going by your posts.
My first languages are Russian and Ukrainian. I'm trying to be objective about any country and history and be a peacekeeper sometimes.
Thank you for your honesty, something quite rare on this forum.
