lets not forget that USA/EU is not only supplying military aid, they are propping up the whole state of Ukraine. Through many organisations such as the World Bank. Paying for 150k public servants and all the pensions and social services. If that aid/loans are cut off, the whole concept of Ukraine collapses, ie total anarchy.

Excellent article. The extremists on both sides need to start seeing things closer to the middle. Anyone who believes Ukraine can completely push out Russia from occupied territory is simply not a smart or realistic person. Anyone who thinks Russia is going to over run the rest of Ukraine is also not smart or realistic. This war ends at the negotiation table.

Now Biden has waived 28 laws in order to finish Trumps border wall. Of course that is a compromise to the Republicans. In return will the Republicans send some more money to Ukraine? Probably yes, but a reduced amount. The endless supply of money and arms for Ukraine will gradually slow from the US, and at the same time diplomacy should become more active.

Can Ukraine sustain these losses of men, developed property and civilians for another 15 months? I dont think so. Can Russia sustain the losses of men and arms? To their detriment, yes they can, and they have no problem sending more to die every day. Everyone, including myself, are waiting for the big breakthrough with the counter offensive. Small gains are nice, but they wont win the war. Will F-16s make a big enough difference? Will they arrive this winter, in time to make that difference?

USA only offering the mid-life upgrade of the F-16s to Ukraine, at best equal with the latest russian su-35 radar and missiles. Of course those AIM-9 Sidewinder on the wings are sweet.
