The German parliament has already approved funds for Ukraine for the next 4 years. It is only a small part of our budget and a pittance compared to what we would have to spend on deterrence if Russia. Much cheaper to enable the Ukrainians to break thr back of the Russian army for us.

Thankfully that logic is persuasive enough to keep the US on board as well.

Because the Americans are the ones who went around dismantling every European empire except for Russia so they have to take some responsibility for the situation they created.

And there are reasonable points to it too. Since WW2 the USA has an absolutely astronomic military budget that to a large degree is used to help countries in other continents sort out their sh*it.

First they helped the Germans and the Japanese become decent countries again. Then they helped Korea. They also tried to help Cuba, Vietnam and others. They saved Kuwait from Iraq and Afghanistan from the worst forms of Islamism. And btw they also tried to restore order in the greatest sh*ithole Somalia and in 1999 they ended the mess in Yugoslavia, which Europe hadnt been unable to for almost a decade.

All this while there are homeless people and analphabets and people living in trailer parks or working 3 jobs. America could use all that money to help their own instead they try, often very haphazardly, to restore a modicum of sanity and relatively stable future all over the world.

On which source do you base your 500k dead Ukrainian soldiers? A few weeks ago you cited a source with 350k dead Ukrainian (and 500k dead Russian soldiers)? Since then an additional 150k Ukrainian are supposed to have died?

Let us be real here, the scale of the fighting simply does not support such casualties.

It is probably around 100-150k dead Ukrainians and 150-200k dead Russians.

And even then, European defence companies are steadily increasing their production. Even if the USA cuts all support by 2025, we might be able to keep Ukraine afloat.

Things would get tougher for Ukraine, but Russian losses might be severe enough at this point to offset the end of American support.
