Let's not forget who exactly granted independence to these countries. Neither Finland nor Poland actually earned it by themselves. It was act of mercy and solidarity with both nation on the part of the Soviet government. Could you appreciate it at least.

Poland was independent before WW 2. After it was just at best a client state of the Soviet Union, until Solidarity Movement managed to kick Ruskies out, while SU's breakdown.
