In the past such guys lifted and rebuilt Poland from post-war destruction, built schools, hospitals and factories, eradicated illiteracy and did a lot of other things that made life, study and work in Poland possible.

Whenever the Polish government carried out acts that were harmful to Russia in the past it usually backfired and resulted with terrible consequences for Poland as a state and the Polish people as well.

Life in your PiS-supporting village perhaps but not Poland in general. Konfederacja is a blatantly pro-Russian party and they get about 12% in opinion polls and roughly twice as much among young voters. And this with all the anti-Russian propaganda everywhere! So maybe, just maybe, the true Slavic spirits reawakens in the land of Piast he he :)

I say what happened in the history. E.g, 19th century. Guys who openly opposed Russians were sent to Siberia or ended on the gallows. Guys who supported Russia were allowed to work, make good money and careers.

What reason would the Russians have to invade Poland? They already have more land than they know what to do with, and Poland doesn't exactly have the natural resources to make such a venture enterprising. The costs by far outweigh the rewards. Also Poland doesn't have a sizable Russian minority that it can opress (ban Russian language in schools, ban Cyrillic alphabet etc).

Russia is the last empire in the world. All empires have to expand if they want to survive - such a law.


Don`t be silly. The Russian greed for Poland has never been about resources. We are the direct and easy passage to Western Europe. Simple.

You don't know that. Polish communists were often executed by the Soviets and fascist ONR activists chased down and killed by Gestapo. Poland is a complicated country.

So, if you like to denigrate and insult opportunists and careerists, you will find a lot of them among both PiS supporters and uncritical EU-enthusiasts; no need to pick on the minority of Russophiles - honest, simple Slavic souls. :)

If Ukraine joined NATO and EU when it could - like Baltic States, Poland, Czechs, Slovaks, etc - there would be no war. Russia isn't invading Latvia or Estonia. It's invading whatever it can get away with - meaning the less smart countries that haven't managed to get into NATO in time (like Georgia and Ukraine).

Tt's not that Russia fears NATO defences of Estonia, forces deployed there are relatively weak. What Russia fears is NATO's retaliation after such an attack and NATO taking Estonia back while destroying Russian invasion force.


Casimir IV was the king who granted the nobility a set of priviliges that later, during the reign of his children, especially Sigismund I, became the foundation of nobility democracy.

Basically 8-10% of the population co-ruled Poland by electing their representatives to the Parliament composed of two Houses.

At the same time Russian Ivans (III and IV) were murdering nobility to institute autocratic rule.

Being able to vote for a candidate of one's choosing is a freedom Russians simply do not have. Even an Africa-born president chosen by the people would be much better than a Kremlin nominated satrap.

It is Udmurtia who must make the choice - overthrow their leaders and join the modern world, or comtinue living like peasants with no toilets, reliant on a few crumbs from China and Iran and Uganda.
