I think the US has given up on Ukraine.

The Germans were the first ones to pull the plug. They of course employed the excuse of their budgetary rule (there was a recent ruling by the constitutional court), but it also happened suspiciously close to the unraveling of the whole Nord Stream debacle. Scholz's defense that the funding will now be maintained through stealing Russia's central bank reserves instead, is a very weak one. That money is in Belgium, and was never Germany's to give to begin with. It's simply too difficult politically for him to explain otherwise why Germany's contribution is set to go to zero.

For the US, it seems the last straw was the Kursk invasion. It was not consulted. It does not agree it's a good use of donated equipment. Finally, it's tired of Zelensky's extortionate policy of shifting the escalation game, and then attempting to embarrass the US into acquiescing to the newly established facts. If Zelensky wants to act independently, he should do so without US support - that seems to be the message.

I'm not really worried anymore about the differences between Harris and Trump when it comes to Ukraine, because it seems Harris likely won't do much for Ukraine either.

Johnson wants Ukrainians to die more
