Poland's aid to Ukraine if Russia invades - part 19

do you recall me saying the same 3 years ago..

Yes I do and do you remember some of us agreeing with you.
I think the question back then was, "How do you think America would react if Putin put missiles on the Canadian border."

Yes I do and do you remember some of us agreeing with you.

Getting an agreement from the guys with brains is fine.

Getting an agreement from the morons who hate Russia and me is a success. Still waiting...

@Barney
Its not a free market economy when the US has a 23% tariff on everything sent to Europe and Europe has an 8% tariff. That is called a trade deficit. Free market is equal tariffs and taxes.

Pumping capitol into a market that has already accounted for that capitol being spent someplace else is not inflationary. When the market has already accounted for that money, any new funds entering the market will drive pricing down. But you would know that being so economically literate.

And just like that Ukraine says they are nearing a deal with Trump on rare earths. Wow, its crazy how deals are made isnt it? Trump now pointing a finger at France and the UK saying they have done nothing to help end the war! Perfect. Put Macron on notice that he is all but washed up, and that Starmer needs to stfu as it relates to what the US should or shouldnt do.

BS. The tariffs are equal and average to 4% on both sides. How long do you suck your finger to get such fake news???

Of course his numbers are wrong - he is wrong about all numbers, all of the time

ec.europa.eu/commission/presscorner/detail/en/qanda_25_541

As for PolAms version of inflation economics, well it is hilarious

Whatever you think of Macron, he has won 2 elections convincingly. Nothing washed up about him.

Starmer has been disgracefully insulted by US politicians ever since he also won a big election victory. He has every right to answer back

@pawian
Hey fvcktard, apparently you do not watch the US news. Trump considers VAT a tariff. Now go to school and let the adults talk. @cms neuf same for you.

Macron will lose to Le Pen in the next election. He won nothing convincingly. Olaf is on his way out. Starmer is a far left fool, and if being insulted by the US is an indication of where he stands, the the UK is in trouble.

rump considers VAT a tariff

Does he also think whales are very big fish?

econlib.org/a-vat-is-not-a-tariff/

cms neuf
22 Feb 2025  #460

VAT is not a tariff, never has been

VAT is applied also to goods made domestically

Macron will be out in 2027 because France has a two term limit. He won the last one 59-41, a far greater margin of victory than Trump has.

Being insulted by the US at the moment seems to indicate you are a real democracy - they are insulting Canada, Ukraine, UK, Germany, Denmark and I'm sure they will get round to Poland in the next few weeks.

You are always wrong about any kind of number. Along with Novi's trans obsession it is one of the few constants in a changing world.

Being insulted by the US at the moment

Recent comments by Trump remind me most of kayfabe... and those both cheering and jeering the loudest are the marks....

It would have been funny if USA wasn't so powerful.

They can try the 'us against the world' approach and go back to isolationist policy but the world changed since the last time they did it and not sure how it will work now.

I hope the Europe will realise there is no point in putting any faith in USA at least till Trump's in office if not much longer.

A member of the European Parliament has claimed that the Honorable Trump has given Europe three weeks to sign Ukraine's "surrender."

man.. that's f*cking brutal..

cms neuf
22 Feb 2025  #465

Even if it is a performance Maf it is senseless - Trump just won an election so he doesn't need to appeal to a US audience

And in an uncertain time then keeping all your best friends. Like Britain and Poland and Canada, second guessing and behaving erratically is a weird tactic.

As n example - Many European leaders took domestic risks to back the US position on Gaza, and then a week after taking power Trump says he wants to expel the Palestinians

The same with sanctions on NN - European leaders, including Polish, said that it is worth it to prevent illegal aggression - the Trump comes and says it's a waste of time

The European Union is preparing a military aid package for Ukraine worth approximately 20 billion euros ($20.9 billion).

go get educated on current events.

@Lenka
When the US was isolationist, it was the most prosperous time in the countrys history. Replace taxes in the US with tariffs, and the country will thrive like never before. Cut all excessive costs and bvllshit programs and send those billions back to the people. Then when the US is strong again internally it can help others. No different than the approach of every other smart country.

All the talk about Trump and still none of you answer the questions of wtf has Europe been doing for the last 30 years to prepare for Russia? Wht hasnt Europe made its full contributions to NATO? Why? Because they were taking care of themselves. No different than what the US wants to do now. The problem is that its inconvenient for Europe when the US wants to do so.

Lenka

go get educated on current events

The fact that Trump considers it like that doesn't make it a fact.

When the US was isolationist, it was the most prosperous time in the countrys history.

To the point it was suffocating.
Not to mention that times changed and the world is different. Not saying it's impossible just not as clear cut.

Wht hasnt Europe made its full contributions to NATO?

I would imagine after being in Poland for such a long time you'd understand that it's not one entity but obviously not.
And it's not about not helping because you are not helping Germany, France etc in any way. It's about being ****** partner to Ukraine (and I don't mean supplying further support but having talks behind their back, trying to arm wrestle their goods away from them etc.)
I never trusted USA too much so I'm not surprised and I'm happy people start to see the unreliability of those ally.

So Trump is going to base economic policy on pretending that VAT is a tarrif. Gotcha.

I never trusted USA too much

Good idea. The US is not a reliable ally. And lots of Americans will perform amazing mental gymnastics to justify turning their backs on allies (talk to Iraqi Kurds if you need more proof).

I never trusted USA too much

Only when the United States is providing Poland with $BILLIONS$ do you trust us. lol
Once the money stops the story changes.
The United States has provided billions to Poland in military loans and assistance and economic support.
The total amount of direct loans to Poland is over $7 billion.
Not to mention what the U.S.A. has done to beef up Polands military.
Nobody gives a F about your trust for America, just remember how America has made your life better and more secure.
A thank you would be appreciated instead of your snide remarks about the hand that feeds you..

Three years of war. Three years of absolutely stupid positioning of the United States and Europe on Ukraine, and now in a matter of weeks it looks to be coming to an end because some people are now forcing it to happen. Russia has been bleeding out, so has Ukraine. For what exactly? So that the entire EU can now be up in arms over the US forcing an end to the war? So the EU can now say that they dont want to send peace keeping forces? Or how about the EU not being able to take a position on the trade agreement on tariffs that is set to expire with Ukraine in June? Why because the farmers of the EU, Poland leading them, are tired of being under cut on prices. In the end, it is every country for themselves.

The EU is freaking out over Trumps plan to move 100K American military out of Europe. Why? Maybe because the EU hasnt pulled their weight for securing the EU on its own? Meanwhile Mercedes, and BMW are trying to figure out how to cope with the new US tariffs and taxes. The French wine makers are also panicking. Macron and the other EU leaders are lining up to talk to Trump and it doesnt look like Trump will back down on anything. Want access to the worlds largest and best consumer market? Get in line and get ready to make real business deals.

And here on PF after putting this forum in "read only" mode to draw attention to fund raising, the result was raising another $25. This move was the absolute dumbest move in PF history. You do not promote activity by limiting activity. This forum needs new users and an update on software, not the continued bad management it has.

I have a brilliant idea...Move your production to the US!!! No tariffs!!!

Quoting:

The Americans are leaving. Or, at least, they have made it brutally clear that they are tired of babying their EU vassals, who need to get ready to stand on their own feet.

What an idea! A bloc of roughly 450 million inhabitants and in possession of modern (if steadily declining) industries - defend itself?

What's next? Asking healthy adults to walk, breathe, and eat on their own?

Yes. GFY! The US needs you like I need another azzfvcker or mancvnt here...

Trump

Ah, yes - Donald Trump, the famous orange man of America! The intellect of Kononowicz coupled with honesty and integrity of Mejza :) He is immensely important for Europe. He should play a similar role for us that a heart attack plays for a heavy smoker--a wake up call and a cause of the firm decision to stop f*cking smoking. If this man won't make Europeans realise that the time of alliance with America has come to an end, then I don't know what will.

What Europe now needs to do is:

- realise that it's time for sacrifice and spending more (way more!) on defense;
- start a nuclear sharing plan based on French and British nuclear potential, as well as technology and know-how transfer to Germany, Poland, Finland and Romania (these four countries must become nuclear powers for strategic European defense reasons);
- postpone the green revolution plans until more peaceful times and go back to coal to alleviate energy problems and cost for industry;
- significantly improve relations with BRICS (with a view to future membership or at least close EU-BRICS alliance).

This will be a good start. Further steps will follow.

The United States of America has been granted free use of our unlubricated anuses for way too long. The time for global change has come.
