first you lure countries to your side, giving them false feeling of safety
This kind of irritates me, because it goes at the heart of this war. Our Ukrainian brothers claim also daily that they were lured, and now feel abandoned.
Nobody lured you fools, you set yourself on the hook.
And even if you were lured - are you a child?
In Ukraine's case she got lured by an old fat woman with literal cookies (Victoria Nuland). If a clutch of cookies is enough to lure you, maybe you are not thinking very strategically?
------------
Don't say you were lured, because everyone saw how cynically you lot behaved.
Normal countries, that actually fought with America side by side through some of its toughest moments - had refused to follow the American lead into Iraq. But Ukraine and Poland - champions of American freedom - they send their forces to Iraq.
Along with countries like Micronesia, Uzbekistan, Tonga, Nicaragua, Mongolia, the Marshall Islands, and others that joined Bush's "Coalition of the Willing".
Micronesia and Honduras were also "lured", I presume, by American offers of protection against a potential Russian invasion.
No Paulina. All the late entrants joined NATO for very self serving reasons.
For some it meant whitewashing a corrupt regime that was on the verge of being turned into an international pariah.
For others, it was a clever way of demonstrating to Russia that "we have options". In other words, using the threat of NATO as a means of extracting concessions out of Russia.
Finally for others it was a gamble that America might renew their armed forces essentially for free - by passing on American hand me downs in exchange for legacy Soviet equipment. For many of those that went into Iraq this gamble paid off.
Nobody lured you.
