Poland's aid to Ukraine if Russia invades - part 20

Germany deploys troops to Russia's doorstep for first time since the Nazis
A 5,000-strong armored brigade in Lithuania is set to be combat-ready by 2027, according to army plans

Are you, azzholes, sure you want a replay of 1945? See photo above.

@Novichok, LOL

Do you have some kind of a problem with logical thinking? 🤦

Since the US wants to pull out of Europe then someone has to replace them and you can expect more of this to happen. So, kindly go f*ck yourself.

...by 2027... dear God.

We are in the middle of a full-scale imperial invasion at our doorstep and it will take Germany - the largest and richest European country - two years to send 5000 men to Lithuania. Let that properly sink in.

Ladies and gentlemen we are well and truly [insert (in)appropriate word here].

No.

If Germany atttacked Russia...

1. Putin calls Trump and says: We will drop 10 small nukes on Germany. Nothing to do with you so stay out of it.
2. Trump calls Putin and says: Go ahead. We will not commit suicide for the Germans. Give me three days to fly Americans back home.
3. Putin: 10-4.
4. Putin shows Trump's response to Germany. Germany stops shooting in an hour and surrenders.

That's why I said the US was comfortable with most NATO countries not spending very much on defense... can you imagine if Germany started rearming in 1993?

A big part of the MAGA base is very much like a big part of the PiS base... resentful and full of revenge fantasies and there's no pleasing them.

Ladies and gentlemen we are well and truly

This is what I have been saying for over a year.

Meanwhile Putin is sending someone to visit with Trump and calm him down. I get the sense from many reports that Trump is really close to saying fvck it. Putin needs Trump to stay on board with some peace plan or runs the risk of sanctions never ending as well as new sanctions on anyone doing business with Russia.

The mineral deal....now here is the real reason for its delay. In the Ukraine deal with Brussels already committed to in its application to join the EU, Brussels has the rights for the EU to mine those minerals with Ukraine. So, if Zelensky does a deal with the US, Brussels has to change its deal, or Ukraine doesnt get in the EU. Interesting how its not just the US who wants payback now isnt it? Brussels has been planning to plunder Ukraines minerals since the war started.

now here is the real reason for its delay

And not the fact that a 'deal' that gives all the profits to the US with no security guarantees is not a good deal?

Say what you want about the EU (I'll agree with some of it) it's nowhere near as predatory as the US, especially vis a vis prospective members.

Meanwhile the same people who say Europe needs to step up regarding its own defense then freak about Germany doing just that....

Of course the EU does not own any mineral rights in Ukraine. Pure nonsense as always

It is true that if Ukraine went ahead with the mineral robbery that would in future contravene EU law if Ukraine joined (which is at least 15 years away)

They know there is no sense agreeing to the robbery

- it doesn't include security guarantees
- even if it did then the US can no longer be trusted to act on them
- it wouldn't stop Putler anyway because he has no interest in a ceasefire

and it will take Germany - the largest and richest European country

.....yeah....but I can't remember any of our european neighbours complain as we so thoroughly took all the money out of the Bundeswehr and demilitarized....pacifism became a german lifestyle of sorts.

I want nothing to hear of it when we in the coming 2030's become again the largest, most modern, most powerful army in Europe....which has to be moved sooner or later too....somewhere.....so!

Everything east of the Oder is our sphere of influence.. got it punk?

anyway, russia stronk
edition.cnn.com/2025/03/15/china/china-russian-goods-popularity-intl-hnk-dst/index.html

Liang Jinghao, a tourist from the northern Shanxi province, said he had seen many similar Russian goods stores back home. "Russia is a very good country, with a vast land area and rich resources, and its people are also very friendly," he said.

Everything east of the Oder is our sphere of influence..

Easier said then done, Ukrainian ambassador to Poland claims French forces will be deployed in western parts of Ukraine. Which will allow French business to follow to invest in to.

Without Polish military on the ground. There will be no room for Polish investments according to the Ukrainian ambassador.

sphere of influence

Idle talk. What Polish politicians need to do is to take care of everyday business properly.
---
There will be no room for Polish investments according to the Ukrainian ambassado

Well, there shouldn't be any room for Ukrainian investment in Poland in the first place. No one item of military equipment should be allowed to go through Poland to Ukraine before they sort out our fundamental expectations.
On the other hand with politicians as we have currently I'm not surprised that everybody takes us for a ride.
--
Also we don't need military involvement in Ukraine. I'm sure Ukraine would be happy to help us with getting involved in their war.

I'd argue that making sure that there still is an Ukraine in which the EU can invest to gets priority over who gets what out of for now.... .

Worst case scenario, having an "ungrateful" Ukraine as neighbour is still vastly preferable for Poland than one Ukraine that is controlled by Russia.

If Germany atttacked Russia...

NATO is a defensive alliance that exists to deter Russia. Its not offensive nor does it want to destroy Russia as proven by the fact that it didn't try to in the 90s.

Russia being strong or weak is beside the point, no NATO member is really interested in finding out or fighting Russia. Even if, for example, Poland could beat Russia in war I don't want to try, to expend resources and men for this.

In short NATO is a huge FU*CK OFF sign.

Tacitus

We are talking about 5k soldiers here, not 500k... .

The idea that any of the planned NATO troops in the Baltics pose any kind of threat to Russia is absurd.

We are on the same page. Thank you for agreeing with me that it was an idle talk.

Smooth talk. I would say those issues should be sorted ahead of time. You are German and you scoff at planning? I smell a rat here - metaphorically speaking.

It is. In the real world. In Russian Mir, anything that is not Russian Mir is a threat.

it's nowhere near as predatory as the US, especially vis a vis prospective members.

What is so predatory to expect repayment for the hundreds of billions the US provided for Ukraine's defense. After all, EU is being repaid for the loans
provided for Ukrainian defense?

mafketis
3 Apr 2025  #1613

hundreds of billions the US provided for Ukraine's defense

The great majority of US aid (when actually delivered) was in the form of weaponry that was due to be discarded (and was sent to Ukraine instead).

And it is predatory to lay claim to the country's economic future with no security guarantees given in return....

PolAmKrakow

@mafketis
Bull$hit. The US was paying salaries and retirements for Ukraine, propping them up financially. Get your facts straight.

What weaponry? The weaponry the US shouldn't have in the first place?

Name that "weaponry" or STFU.

security guarantees

You can play the "security guarantees" game on your own. There are 450 million Euro parasites with two nuke countries...GFY...

Why are Euros looking at us when this subject is discussed.

WTF are you? Zimbabwe?

Korvinus

There are 450 million Euro parasites with two nuke countries...GFY...

USA is needed because of nukes. Until now in exchange for remaining completely vulnerable to Soviet nukes because of US enforced NPT cancer, USA at least was providing a credible conventional deterrence, no longer the case.

Very realistic that Poland develops its own nukes if decide that vance can't be trusted.

It just seems in bad taste and premature to squabble about who gets what out of Ukraine when the very survival of Ukraine is far from certain (I'd say it is 50/50 at best).

And from a Polish perspective, I would argue that it is more important to avert the worst case scenario than to getter a better deal while using methods that make the worst case scenario more likely.

Because whatever Poland could get from Ukraine, it is realistically less than what it stands to lose from having a more than 1000km long border with Russia.... .

Novichok
3 Apr 2025  #1618

USA is needed because of nukes.

No.

France and the UK have their own. Plus if you play it nice, there will be no need for nukes to finish off Russia once and for all.

After Napoleon and Hitler, Macron may be more successful...That ugly wife of his will scare Putin into surrender real fast...

survival of Ukraine is far from certain

Ukraine is a dead man walking or, if you prefer this analogy...Germany in January 1945.

Korvinus
3 Apr 2025  #1619

France and the UK have their own

France and the UK would never use nukes against Russia to help Poland due to risk of retaliation. The only way Poland could ever have anything to do with nuclear deterence is that western Poland could be a place where Germans could drop their 20 US nukes on Russians if they've managed to go through Poland.
And even this is highly unlikely, since I doubt that modern Germans would dare to actually use them against Russian army even when facing defeat.

Novichok

Neither would the US.

Americans may like Poland but they love the US a lot more.

Nothing in Europe is worth even one American life.
