Prussia and Russia...
... were two cannibals who feasted eagerly on the flesh of Poland. Austria joined the partitions for strategic reasons and it was the Austrian Partition lands where Polish culture, language and traditions were the least persecuted.
Poland had the first modern constitution of Europe and civic freedoms unheard of in absolutist Russia and Prussia. She had unique civilization based on Golden Freedom, Faith, Honour and Truth. Unfortunately she also had absolutist cavemen neighbours.
If Poland, way ahead of her time, had had the opportunity to flourish and spread her social and political advances all over Europe, it would be Europe today, not the USA, that would be the greatest global superpower.
WW1 and consequently WW2 would never have taken place had the vomit-inducing act of political cannibalism - the Partitions - never happened. Unfortunately, the cannibal cavemen destroyed our beloved Holiest Rzeczpospolita. And later, in 1939 and 1945, they came back for more.
We heard it all from them: that it was chaotic anarchy, that it was too liberal, that the Jews, the nobles, the city dwellers, the clergy had too much freedom, so they were too strong and the king was too weak; we heard it all about liberum veto, rokosze, too much democracy and too little central power blah blah blah yadda yadda yadda
They don't understand the Spirit of Freedom, they don't understand the glory that Pax Polonica would have brought to the world. Poland had to fall, they say, because she was too weak... too weak they say...
Where are two of the cannibals that were so strong and ate our flesh? Where are they? Imperial Austria is no more - let's be quiet over her grave as she was the most decent of them all. Absolutist Prussia is no more - they melted into the muslim-ridden, multikulti modern Germany.
Two of the three cannibals met justice and paid their price. What about the third? Well... whoever knows what Our Lord Jesus Christ prepared for them on the Judgement Day? Whoever knows...
