followed by secondary explosions....

Some witnesses apparently saw drones but russia says the conflagration was do to a 'safety violation' (like letting the stockpile get hit by drones????)

Ukraine is slowly winning this war, they are outsmarting the Russians at every turn.
Even if the USA turns chicken and runs, European support will still be enough to see them wear the Russians out.

Could that be the end?

Vladimir Putin offers to halt Ukraine invasion along current front line

ft.com/content/5d848403-4a15-4592-888b-eb7b754ecb3a

Vladimir Putin has offered to halt his invasion of Ukraine at the current front line as part of efforts to reach a peace deal with US President Donald Trump, according to people familiar with the matter.

.....

The US has since floated ideas for a possible settlement that includes Washington recognising Russian ownership of Ukraine's Crimean peninsula, the people added, as well as at least acknowledging the Kremlin's de facto control over the parts of the four regions it currently holds.

The proposal is the first formal indication Putin has given since the war's early months three years ago that Russia could step back from its maximalist demands to end the invasion......

PS: That would be about these territories staying in Russia then....

Vladimir Putin has offered to halt his invasion of Ukraine

Russia is not invading Ukraine. Ukraine invaded Russia in the Kursk region.

Or self-determination referenda don't count anywhere. If so, let's look at the one in Kosovo.

I wonder if Ukrainians could live with that loss....Ukraine still looks mighty big without it!

And a future membership in the EU (including the rebuilding-support) and maybe even NATO would sweeten that loss alot....

NATO is not going to happen in your lifetime or Putin would have a lot to explain...

He can't just say...oops...sorry...NATO is OK ...after what Russia lost in lives and money.

Agreed....it will be a looooong process anyhow...EU too. And the war has to end officially before in the first place!

without due process nor in russia but usa?

An sob who breaks US laws by bypassing due process on the way in, has no right to demand due process on the way out.

Just as a guy who breaks into your house to steal cannot say: Now I want due process to make me leave. If I lose, I want to appeal - all the way to the US Supreme Court and at your expense, of course...

This is insanity...especially if you multiply this BS 20 million times - 10 million just from Biden.

Putin reacts to EU threats over Victory Day
The Russian leader has praised the bravery of European leaders who defy Brussels to visit Moscow for the May 9 celebration

Victory Day is one of the most important national holidays in Russia. The event is celebrated annually on May 9 to mark the 1945 triumph of the USSR over Nazi Germany and its allies, and to honor the estimated 26.6 million deaths the Soviet Union suffered in World War II. Around 18 million were civilian deaths.

The shameful refusal to remember this event on the part of Western scumbags is duly noted. Only Slovakia and Serbia will not be intimidated by these m-*******...

Even German generals had more class in treating their fallen US counterparts.

It's embarrassing to be a Polak today. My apologies to Bobko and Velund.

It's the 80th anniversary! Merz should probably go....there are things bigger than our actual quarrels and leaders, it's history!

But this one is not that easy, Rich! Even Hungary's #1 Putin-Fan Orban isn't going....for many countries it's not about Brussels and not even about the Ukraine war...it's that Moscow's victory was for many people nothing to be glad about, quite the contrary!

I am not one of them.

I would pay dearly to be in Moscow on May 9 to share in their pride.

Since I am no longer Polish, I wouldn't ask the Russian standing next to me how he feels about Katyn.

.there are things bigger than our actual quarrels and leaders, it's history!

On May 9, that awful number of 27 million overrides everything else. On May 10, we can go back to calling each other names. Not on May 9.

The same can be said about 8 million Germans. In death, we are all equal and the best thing the survivors can do is remain silent.

Prussia and Russia...

... were two cannibals who feasted eagerly on the flesh of Poland. Austria joined the partitions for strategic reasons and it was the Austrian Partition lands where Polish culture, language and traditions were the least persecuted.

Poland had the first modern constitution of Europe and civic freedoms unheard of in absolutist Russia and Prussia. She had unique civilization based on Golden Freedom, Faith, Honour and Truth. Unfortunately she also had absolutist cavemen neighbours.

If Poland, way ahead of her time, had had the opportunity to flourish and spread her social and political advances all over Europe, it would be Europe today, not the USA, that would be the greatest global superpower.

WW1 and consequently WW2 would never have taken place had the vomit-inducing act of political cannibalism - the Partitions - never happened. Unfortunately, the cannibal cavemen destroyed our beloved Holiest Rzeczpospolita. And later, in 1939 and 1945, they came back for more.

We heard it all from them: that it was chaotic anarchy, that it was too liberal, that the Jews, the nobles, the city dwellers, the clergy had too much freedom, so they were too strong and the king was too weak; we heard it all about liberum veto, rokosze, too much democracy and too little central power blah blah blah yadda yadda yadda

They don't understand the Spirit of Freedom, they don't understand the glory that Pax Polonica would have brought to the world. Poland had to fall, they say, because she was too weak... too weak they say...

Where are two of the cannibals that were so strong and ate our flesh? Where are they? Imperial Austria is no more - let's be quiet over her grave as she was the most decent of them all. Absolutist Prussia is no more - they melted into the muslim-ridden, multikulti modern Germany.

Two of the three cannibals met justice and paid their price. What about the third? Well... whoever knows what Our Lord Jesus Christ prepared for them on the Judgement Day? Whoever knows...

what Polish tradition?

Svetovid?

Who in Poland defended Svetovid?

for strategic reasons

Exactly. That is the point.

Since when foreign usurpers usurped power in Poland, and people was subdued, Poland became strategic territory. If one usurper can why not other?

See, only riding with Racowie ie Serbians, Poles sow freedom and tradition of Poland. All the rest is a fiction.

Serbians have a key.

your thoughts on The Deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia without due process

I'll be concerned when someone can explain exactly what 'due process' he was denied. So far no one can.

After determining that he was in the country illegally there's no reason for him to stay and deportation is justified.

Torq

@Crow

Poland is Sarmatia, Poland is Svetovid, Poland is the Dragon Mother of all Slavia.

Racowie are our brothers but, sadly, certain other Slavic tribe which I shall presently not name have been somewhat less brotherly recently.

Oh, well... that's life. Perhaps one day all Slavic tribes will once again be united under the Mother of all Slavs. Whoever knows...

The NNs are panicking - the low oil price and tight sanctions are driving them to desperation and they are trying to make one final push to Golden cow and his idiot inexperienced team

Problem is that the US credibility is now at rock-bottom, they folded on the Chinese tariffs yesterday. I was incorrect when they said it will be done by Easter, they did it two days later.

Meantime, the NN murdering scum drone operators have been targeting a civilian bus with many casualties. Though I'm sure by lunchtime, this will have become a bus full of French mercenaries on their way to weapons training

The Ukrainians will have to decide whether or not the proposed deal is bad enough to justify continued resistance even without any future American support.
Knowing how crucial American military and intelligence assistance has been and still is, that is a tough decision indeed.

You got it upside down.

Donbass is part of Russia. Ukrainians are the occupiers. Nobody there gives a fvck what you think.

Russia, kill them all. Donbass is yours - just as Western Poland belongs to Poland, not Germany.

Anybody who doesn't like it, call 1-800-FVCK-YOU.

Whatever Europe does, please do NOT call the White House and yell: Article 5!!!!! Help!!!!

Bildschirmtext/Minitel

Funny

Eutelsat is the only potential competitor to Starlink, only it costs 10K per unit. Not exactly cost effective. If the US is out Ukraine is either done, or the EU goes to war in order to keep Ukraine fighting. Looks to me like Ukraine will concede Crimea, and allow Russia to keep the territory without officially recognizing it.

Talks between Ukraine, US, UK, France, and Germany collapse in London.

After Zelenskyy rules out giving up Crimea, or any territory at all - Rubio pulls out of the talks. A few hours before he was scheduled to fly out to London, Rubio cancelled his plans. Supposedly after watching a press conference where Zelensky totally sh*ts on the idea of any territorial concessions.

Steve Witkoff similarly canceled plans to attend.

It's all over the news this morning. Looks to be, the beginning of the end.
