non-binding guidelines

Why? what benefit does this bring?

getting worked up by what something's called somewhere

Exactly! A person who cannot deal with the term "Breast milk" has no reason to be around children.

A person who cannot deal with the term "Breast milk"

Would have a big problem as all publications call it breast milk and the process breast feeding.

What I don't understand is that from what I read trans people feel almost antagonistic towards their bodies as they are not corresponding with how they feel. Hence self harm etc. How on earth in this condition such person can go through pregnancy and birth as it is such a sex oriented thing.

Ask that hospital and ask all the others who don't have such guidelines. Does it make any difference?

How on earth in this condition such person can go through pregnancy and birth

I don't think many do, however the number of such people seems to be growing exponentially.

Does it make any difference?

If it doesn't then why make a thing about it?

the number of such people seems to be growing exponentially

A person freaked out enough by their own body to not want to hear/see the term "breast milk" has about zero chance of raising a mentally healthy child.

People who don't understand the existence of biology.... really shouldn't be reproducing.... bad idea. Such. A. Bad. Idea.

jon357
11 Feb 2021  #305

why make a thing about it?

People aren't. The tabloids like to print stuff that riles up some conservatives. Most people don't get stressed about it.

has about zero chance of raising a mentally healthy child.

Hence their hospital doing everything it can to help.

.. bad idea. Such. A. Bad. Idea.

I agree 100%

This world is getting crazier by the day and I can only point the finger at these "woke" lefties and PC loonies for creating these problems.

Ive heard this morning that France is now blaming the USA for their lefty problems, but they've been this way for years, no?

The insanity isnt going to stop with "Breast Milk" either. I think when Xiden allowed trannys to destroy women's sports has a lot of ppl talking in the USA.

I remember when Obama had a war on same sex public toilets??? Im just saying, lefties aren't right in the head .

[Moved from]: Elections of Catalunya 2021

Is anyone else following the results as they come in?

elpais.com/

I'm delighted to see that the pro-independence parties have probably won an absolute majority of seats, but we need to wait and see as to whether they've obtained the magic 50% marker as well.

Sadly, Vox do appear to have won representation in the Parlament de Catalunya, but in general, it's been a pretty dire performance for right wing parties. The PP are unlikely to make any gains, Ciudadanos (or as they're known in Catalan - Ciutadans) fell back dramatically, and the PSC+En Comú Podem grouping (essentially the local representatives of the two left wing parties that govern Spain) has probably won most of the seats that will go to parties opposing independence.

The new Parlament will be very centre-left in nature, with only around 15-16 seats out of 135 belonging to parties who strongly oppose Catalan independence at all costs. Even the PSC+En Comú Podem bloc cannot oppose pro-independence parties too strongly, as they rely on the pro-independence ERC to maintain the left wing government in Madrid.

Either way, a clear and decisive rejection of right wing politics in Catalunya.

I highly doubt they would try this if Trump were still President. With Xiden, the caliphate will grow like ISIS did under Obozo.

What will the Europeans do? Mostly likely nothing as usual, roll out the welcome mat into Londionstan.

You have better posts when its not about Serbia all the time.

Trump or no Trump this time if Turks mistake it would be the last mistake. But I see real possibility that morbid Biden manipulates madman Erdogan and sends him on a suicidal mission.

I even believe that could actually unite western Europeans and Slavs in a common struggle.

Personally, I love what Xiden is doing. The more, the better...In Polish: Im gorzej, tym lepiej.

I just read that due to the Covid-19 restrictions Poland has become more attractive for German trade as increase in digital services has increased. Also that Poland has become more important as a trade partner then Italy and Austria (statistically)

Here is the link:

A very positive thing.

We'll see many more digital services as economies adapt to the crisis and find out that there are inherent cost savings.

Key downside is human contact in general, it can evolve into stronger familiar bond tho (blood related family, wife, husband etc) or mental illnesses. Hopefully people will be able to adapt

On the other side the office market is up 2 digits so thankfully not all companies do that.

jon357

Key downside is human contact in general,

That's a sad aspect of it all. There are many people working from home in kawalerki , staring at 4 walls and if they're single, never meeting anyone. This will be a crisis we as a society will have to deal with in the near future.

the office market is up 2 digits so thankfully not all companies do that.

This is a definite plus.

This will be a crisis

My friend deals with a lot of this, and she says that it's a major, major issue for people without families. If they have a family, they hold up well, but young single people in a small apartment by themselves are really struggling.

They're trying to find ways to alleviate the situation, such as by organising walks in small groups for brainstorming purposes during office hours, as people simply need it.

The suicide rate in Poland is very high even without this crisis. It's very sad to think that even more people here will be socially isolated.

The suicide rate in Poland is very high

If I remember rightly, isn't there a huge gap between men and women too? I suspect alcohol has a lot to do with it - if a man can't provide in a patriarchal society, it's easy to see how they can fall into the clutches of booze and despair.

jon357
15 Feb 2021  #321

huge gap between men and women too?

Massively so. Far more men.

Poland is no. 21 in the world for male suicide, no. 115 for female suicide. Russia is by far the highest, and in Poland, the stats may well be underestimated, as the article in the link suggests.

booze and despair.

That and isolation in cities and bleak small towns, especially among single people.

delphiandomine
15 Feb 2021  #322

Cities may not be so bad, but in smaller towns, I can imagine that it's crushingly difficult, especially given the way that Polish families put pressure on their family members to "settle down".

Imagine living in a boxy flat in Swarzędz or Konin through every grey winter, especially with little or no work or contact with others.

delphiandomine
15 Feb 2021  #324

Konin through every grey winter,

Swarzędz at least has night buses to Poznań, but you're right, I'd be climbing the walls in Konin. I was there once, and it seemed to have an abundance of chavs and very little else.

From my observation most people don't isolate and carry more or less normal contacts.

most people don't isolate and carry more or less normal contacts.

My rule is to avoid indoor contacts, though easier said than done when you have to deal with kids daily :(

No harm in outdoor contacts though. I'm trying to meet up with my friends every couple of weeks, though the weather recently is just too cold for me :(

I am not convinced about how much these guidelines help anyway.
My fanily do tend to adhere to them and we have all been working for rhe last year without getting covid.

" That's a sad aspect of it all. There are many people working from home in kawalerki , staring at 4 walls and if they're single, never meeting anyone."

That is what I was doing my whole life. And drinking beers. But at least I was making some money unlike now.

delphiandomine

without getting covid.

I still maintain that there are certain things that do a lot to help - ventilation, avoiding crowded places, avoiding large gatherings indoors in general and avoiding drunk people.

If you look at where a lot of the "fires" started, it was always a common factor that alcohol and crowded indoor places were involved.
