You want to compare Obama's first 3 years, in which he inherited an economic crisis, high unemployment and a leaky budget with Trumps' term, who inherited a stable economy and low unemployment?

The budget deficite is just one the best examples of Trump's contradictory policies. On the one hand he promised that he would reduce the American burden to play world police, which is something everybody can understand. But where is the financial benefit in that for the Americans if he also increases military spending to such a degree? Why would an isolationist USA need such a bloated military?

There is sadly a pattern emerging with democrats restoring the state finances (Clinton, Obama) and the republicans ripping another hole into them. This will be but one of the many, many things Trump's democratic successor will have to fix.
