Take another big TV nerd Steve Scully who was the most senior presenter of a big name network C-SPAN. He was going to moderate a debate, and kept denying he had any links to Biden (when he directly did decades ago as a Democrat staffer to his office), and then lied about his Twitter account being hacked when he publicly reached out to a notorious Trump critic.

Needless to say the American public was outraged and he didn't moderate any debate. Instead his TV network put him on "administrative leave" which is a polite way of saying he is going to be fired for lying and being unethical.
