That's not true.
4 cylinder cars are regarded as standard.
6 cylinders or more are regarded as large.

Maybe not in your crap hole of a country but in Poland it is.

The vast majority of cars in Poland and the UK are 4 cylinder engines.

I know 3 families using this type of washing machine (2×3people and 1 of 5 people). Managed just fine. And if you want to go this route we do have bigger washing machines on the market but as we are neither human elephants nor slobs, we manage just fine with smaller ones.

The truly sad part is that some of you seem to believe having something bigger or more of it somehow validates you as human beings...

In "America", we like clinging to our guns and 8-cylinder engines. I have a six-banger, too, and I intensely dislike it even for the way it sounds.


I am just trying to imagine how nicely those wheels would fit in a typical Chicago pothole in March.

Ours is the same size and type as a normal UK one, except made in Poland and so far a good one. I've used the type in the picture though and it was fine. The picture is probably the cheapest ones in the shop though.


In Saudi, I had American appliances. Giant ones, and no better for that. Overlarge and the quality seemed more basic and old-fashioned than the ones we have in Europe. An American car too, called a 'Crown Victoria'. Oversized and low quality, like an old Ford Consul.

America does have more of the larger engined cars than Europe.

But in Europe we don't drive the huge distances that you guys do.

Downsizing usually means more thought into what and how. Of course smaller doesn't mean better but neither does bigger.

V8 is not about distance. It's about 0 to 60. Plus, a lot of padding weight to keep them quiet.
And space. I hate the lack of space. Those Italian villages with streets that are four feet wide are cute for a day if that long.

I remember the last time I was in Chicago I about had a heart attack on those toll roads.
(Old country boy like me use to driving on dirt roads at 35 mph)
I was rolling at 80mph and had huge 18 wheelers two feet off my ass trying to push me faster.
I was white knuckled and then to top it off you had to have the correct change at the tools.
Haven't been back since.

State Police doesnt look at you unless youre going over 90mph, but dont try it in the city. They have speed and red light cams everywhere. Its 25mph or $100 ticket.
