In the US, police kill civilians and vice versa in relatively large numbers. No question about it.
So I tried to come up with a ratio of dead civilians (meaning the scum of the earth that doesn't understand basic English) to dead cops that would be somewhat acceptable to me. When I got up to 1000 to 1, I stopped unable to resolve this dilemma.

I had the same problem with US troops killed in some sh*ithole and I can't get below 10,000 of them to 1 American. The ratio I still celebrate, though, is 140,000 to zero in Hiroshima and 75,000 to zero in Nagasaki; the ratios easy to live with.

I'm aware of the fact that 99% of cops are bullies and abuse their authority constantly. Just watching all the videos of police shooting unarmed people or even little puppies because they ran out the front door is enough for me...

It cuts both ways. Now we can better see what human garbage the cops have to deal with and that every case of a simple traffic violation is a life-and-death event if the violator is black. Like I said before, I never had the displeasure to look into the barrel of a police Glock.

It is our obligation as a society to minimize the risks cops face and especially if it comes at the expense of increased risk of being a thug. Easy trade. We don't have any obligation to police. They have an obligation to us - we pay their wages. If they don't want to deal with the risks of being a police officer they should chose another job. I want to make 6 figures while doing as little as possible and don't want to put myself in danger while people are genuinely happy to spend time with me and give me their money - that's why I chose the career path I did. The most dangerous thing I'll face in my line of work is bad posture.

Whenever a cop gets shot it's because he or all the cops before him took things to far with an individual and now they have to pay the price. Such is karma in the universe.
