Nothing mysterious about it, Biden had wisely told his voters to send their votes by mail, which naturally take longer to sort through. Several recoubts and challenges before have not once revealed any serious irregularities.


Simple, he was running against a president whose approval ratings rarely went above 40% and who mismanaged a pandemic that by the election had already claimed like 400k lifes. That tends to put people into a mood for change.
