The red wave prediction was never made by anyone other than left wing media. The red wave idea was always being questioned by right wing talking heads. Was it a legitimate fear? Sure. But as close as the last two presidential elections were, no one with a reasonable mind would have believed a dominating Republican victory was coming. The Republicans could have done much better had they chosen better candidates. Dr. Oz? Are you Fing kidding me? The guy never lived in PA and never had a chance based on that issue alone. Anyone knowing PA conservative politics would have known Oz was never winning. Thats just one example.
Anyone thinking that Trump was going to drive the ship was a fool. Those same fools are now keeping the California dumbass from becoming Speaker. They are so stupid they are willing to burn down their own party in order to make a point. A lot like the Dems who are willing to continue to support a President who other than his handling of Ukraine has essentially $hit the bed in every other way.
If women's rights were the driving force, then Dem's should not have lost any seats. It was not the primary focus. The focus is and remains the economy. As an example, a worker at a local Burger King can get a job with the entry level of pay equaling 90 zloty per hour. Working 40 hours a week at that rate in Poland he would be living like a king in any city if he were single. In the US at that local Burger King the same person cannot even rent an apartment on his own working overtime every week.
The republicans won because Republicans are for smaller government, lower taxes, less regulations and a stronger economy. Those are the issues that are important in the US right now. The Dem platform of taxing, spending, interfering in development with heavy regulations, and extreme give aways in the form of welfare programs are what caused them to lose those seats.
When people can live and pay their bills, then women's rights to abortion, and other issues will dominate. Until then, if you ask a woman what is more important to her right now, not tomorrow, but right now this day; the ability to get an abortion when every you want, or the ability to pay all your bills and have money left over to save for retirement, you will likely be surprised at which choice is made the most.
