USA News and Poland - part 14

They're doing the "chlorinated chicken" to American and Chinese social media companies.

Well, I sure hope so. Thanks to EU regulations people in the EU who are registered on Instagram, Facebook, etc. had an option to object to Meta's using their content for their machine learning. People in America weren't allowed to automatically opt out. They had to fill out requests. To date as far as I know all the American artists were declined the "privilege" to opt out (or at least I haven't heard about anyone who got a positive answer from Meta). So Meta is already "legally" stealing their stuff in the US. 🤬 Is the EU the last line of resistance against those greedy, thieving, evil motherf*ckers? :/

You think Europe has no right to regulate tech monopolies ?

But I suppose they could go the full North Nigerian route and ban them completely

Can somebody explain why forcing US companies to bring manufacturing back home is bad for the US but keeping EU companies in the EU is good for the EU?

cms neuf

Because other countries will take retaliatory action, raising prices for everyone, weakening exports, suppressing demand and causing unemployment.

You can google that in a few seconds

Because other countries will take retaliatory action,

Hey, stupid. my question was about US companies coming home.

In 2023, the U.S. had a trade deficit of $773.4 billion.

Any idea how to fix this cancer, Euros?

You do agree that this level of trade deficit is unsustainable, don't you, azzholes...

BTW, before Trump, I don't recall you, morons, being concerned about the US sustainability. Or did I blink at the wrong time and missed that precious moment?

Why are you asking Euro's to ask to fix an American problem?

You want countries to stand up for themselves and sort their own problems out.Fair enough.
So don't blame others for America's problems!
YOU sort it out!

And can I say, tariffs are not the way to sort it out..... as Americans will soon discover.

Globalist scum always wanted that new global order.

Now that got what they wanted. Be happy and say thank you, Mr. Trump.

And eat shlt, Euros...

Why are you asking Euro's to ask to fix an American problem?

Don't have a clue? Fine. Then stay out of the discussion.

tariffs are not the way

So what is the way?

Miloslaw
3 Apr 2025  #669

And eat shlt, Euros...

Your hatred for Europeans is not mirrored by a hatred of Americans by Europeans.

What it sounds like is the same as the hatred Muslims have and Nazis had for Jews.
Totally irrational!

So what is the way?

Persuading nations that have high tariffs on USA products to either lower or abolish them and then the USA reciprocating.
Simple.
Free trade benefits us all.

So, it's not just Americans who can't sell cheese as "parmesan".

YOU sort it out!

Oh yeah, how ingenious; sort it out, but do it my way. Sorting out your way would be like bending over to pick a bar of soap in front of huge Bubba, loosening the belt

Please restrain yourself from commenting on health issues.

Why should she?

The EU is not going to lower its standards to accept your chlorinated chicken and hormone riddled beef. Or foodstuffs containing carcinogens banned in Europe. No matter how much Trump tries to bully us into it. It's well-known that American food is of a lower standard than here in Europe. Your country prefers quantity to quality and she is perfectly entitled to express her opinion. It's a fact that in general Americans are an unhealthy bunch.

Persuading nations that have high tariffs on USA products

We don't have any problems with their tariffs. They can double them...

We have a problem with ours. Way too low and for too long.

There...Trump is fixing it as we speak. Good guy.

You can keep your tariffs as high as you wish.

It's a fact that in general Americans are an unhealthy bunch.

Only those who choose to be pigs.

I am OK.

Miloslaw

You soon will......

Trump is fixing it as we speak.

You really think so?Just wait and see what happens......

Novichok
3 Apr 2025  #676

You soon will......

That's just a knee-jerk response devoid of any substance.

Take it to the extreme and imagine 1000% tariffs on every product. Effectively, all foreign trade stops.

What is the outcome to the US? Simple. We get to keep 800 billion bucks of trade deficit at home! It's like me not eating out. Cheaper and healtier!

Do you know how many American jobs 800B buys? Assume 80k per job. That's 10 million jobs that are not here now because they went bye-bye to China!

That was Econ 101. Cookies are in the back of the class.

want their society to be healthier?

you don't understand. It is about freedom and natural selection. You have the freedom to eat yourself into another dimension or not and at the same time those who can't control themselves have fewer children and die earlier than those who make some effort.
There is no need for a nanny state to cuddle grown-up people.
So people complain not about fat people but about the fact that there are so many weak-willed morons who can't even compute a simple task - eat less.

This cannot be the policy objective of any government. It's like sanctions on the US without imposing sanctions.

Perfect.

Fatsos always suffer from some mysterious condition that makes them gain weight.

When they can't come up with one, it's water retention, metabolism, or stress. Never calories.

Arrived in Detroit for a quick 72 hour work trip. Driving to my hotel, and to work location I am reminded of just how many factories Ford, GM and Chrysler have left empty that could easily be repurposed for new production. These buildings, many of them in very good to excellent condition are still being maintained by the automakers because they own the property. But the massive parking lots are almost empty as a glaring reminder of all the jobs that have been sent to Canada and Mexico.

Gas prices below $3 a gallon here, food prices higher than in Europe, but not out of control like during COVID. 12 eggs at Kroger in Warren, $2.99. There is no price gouging, no panic, none of the bvllshit being talked about by the leftists. So the market is down. It needed a correction. I hope Trump sticks to his plans. The first major country to buckle under the tariff pressure will be just the beginning of a new trading order. Might take six months but who gaf?

Alien

Arrived in Detroit

Who is in charge there, Republicans or Democrats?

PolAmKrakow
5 Apr 2025  #684

@Alien
Democrats have destroyed Detroit for decades. Democratic governors have destroyed nearly all Michigan manufacturing incentives for nearly forty years. Times are changing though, and these car companies already own the buildings. So its not like they have to start from the ground up. Retrofit and reignite.

Volkswagen announces sneaky plan to get back at Trump

Volkswagen is going to let its customers know just how much President Donald Trump's tariffs will cost Americans.

Another sticker will show how much imports cost all of us in unemployment benefits, drug addiction, dispair, broken families, empty factories, rusty bridges, fed deficit and debt, and 1 trillion of interest on that debt...every fvcking year...and growing to the cheers of the scum aka our legal representatives...

Yes,, I know ... Showing one side of the ledger is so much fun.
