USA News and Poland - part 14

artificial trade barrier.

Exactly, let EU eggs in finally! LOL

So it was gone from the US.

So it's fine for the US to decide something is not up to their standard but not EU?
The fact is all those things are usually negotiated for ages with different factors in place e.g.
Cars import tariff higher for USA but for trucks it's the other way round

Przelotnyptak1

Yeah, don't you see the silliness in your quote? Europe sells a millions of stars in the USA with low tariffs, and enormous profits. How many
trucks do we sell in Europe with the tariffs 4 times as high? Is that your idea of fairness?

Przelotnyptak1
13 Apr 2025  #993

Is that the best you can do? Was that, by any chance, your attempt to get the upper hand, kinda, I got you?

How many
trucks do we sell in Europe with the tariffs 4 times as high?

Forgetting the tariffs, I posted on PF back in February that US cars and trucks are never going to be popular in Europe. Our roads are too small for US vehicles and with petrol being way more expensive in Europe, they're not going to be economical. That's why we don't buy them.

https://polishforums.com/usa-canada/censorship-violation-amendment-88796/3/#msg2015243

Regarding the tariffs, I don't think anyone American understands that we haven't been screwing you over for decades but there is no point in trying to explain this to people who are not prepared to listen in the first place. I would just be wasting my time typing explanations.

We understand things very well...

We, Americans are fvcked by:

1. EU tariffs and rules
2. US ruling mob

These m-fers deliberately moved manufacturing jobs to third-world shltholes to avoid paying US labor rates.

They were aided by US gov agencies created for just this purpose. In China, they would be executed for this treason. I like China more.

It's not just about labour rates. The US no longer has the engineering support to run factories in America. Why do you think that Trump has backed down and excluded iPhones/smartphones, computers etc from reciprocal tariffs? They simply cannot be made on the mass scale needed in America. Maybe 10 years in the future if the US puts training programmes into action and builds new factories, but not now. I honestly feel like I'm banging my head against a wall here.

Your country chose to outsource to China/Asia as did many others but trying to blame the EU for a decision the US made is ridiculous.

1. EU tariffs and rules

I'm not even gonna go there. Torq has explained about tariffs as have others. All we get is fvck you Euros in return. Trying to debate with brainwashed Trump supporters is a waste of my time and energy.

Your post is so stupid that I will not even bother...

If I did, your would not read it.

If you read it, you would ignore it.

If you respond, it will be an evasive crap.

Memo to all:

Please do not respond to my posts - unless you are an American, Russian, or BB.

if they want to commit economic and political suicide, they can knock themselves out.

They won't commit political suicide unless China and the EU come to an economic understanding-that includes Russia, too. In that case, you are right; the US will have a hard time.
Trump is counting on American allies to toe the line. Tariffs are not about the economy, it is about changing the model of the US world domination, from hegemony into a full-fledged empire, Empire needs contributions from its outer provinces.
Trump has given some time before that triffs are introduced not because he is generous and has second thoughts but because he really NEEDS the EU to accept it.
By the way, those tariffs are only the tip of the iceberg of incoming changes. Hold your hats folks.

Of course not, especially without a valid argument. Let's remember that you're speaking to everyday Americans. As for wasting time, my main concern is about wasting my own time, even though I do enjoy our conversations.

Novichok
13 Apr 2025  #1001

because he really NEEDS the EU to accept it.

No. He needs time to move jobs back to the US.

What if the EU doesn't? Should we beg? Tariffs are fast and work. That's why 190 countries have them, the EU included.

Moving production back home takes time. Hence, low tariiff at first, a pause, and higher tariffs when the process is completed.

Then tariffs stay indefinitely to prevent another cycle of jobs going to China or Mexico that moron Nixon started by kissing Mao in 1973 hoping that China will soon be Switzerland.

Remember "We can't ignore one billion people" crap? Yes, we can. Let them rot and die.

It's that simple.

Smartphones, computers, semiconductors, solar cells, flat-panel TV displays, and other electronic devices and components will be exempt from Donald Trump's 145% tariff on goods from China...

edition.cnn.com/2025/04/12/tech/trump-electronics-china-tariffs/index.html

bbc.com/news/articles/c20xn626y81o

... LOL :D :D :D

So here's how the 5D chess game went...

1. Trump hikes China's tariffs to 30% and then 84%.
2. China reciprocates.
3. Trump hikes tariffs to 145%.
4. China reciprocates.
5. Trump announces that he wants Xi to call him.
6. China ignores the retard.
7. Trump announces he would be ready to "make a deal".
8. China ignores the retard.
9. Trump rolls back tariffs.

More of this please ! :):):) 🍿 🍿 🍿

to give US companies time to move back to the US

Hahahahahahah :D:D:D

Come back to US where they have to pay a worker $40 instead of $4 they are paying to a Chinese one? Yes, I can definitely see them running back :)

not hurt US consumers in the meantime

Hurting US consumers is all that the orange-skinned cavemen has been doing so far. But hey--he gave some nice insider trading tips to his billionaire friends, that has to count for something, right? :D

Your post is so stupid that I will not even bother...

Here's Apple CEO Tim Cook explaining why it's not down to labour costs that the iPhone is made in China. It's the lack of a skilled workforce in the US.

If you disagree please explain your reasons why phones/computers etc are not made in the US. There's no need to be rude either.

We are upset over you, our so-called allies, screwing us hand over fist. China is in a different category; don't mix apples and oranges; they are entirely different.
China, our adversary, and greedy American traitors/globalists belong together. Lower tariffs on telephones, even Pawian would understand; Apple is an American company, mowing production to America to the tune of 500 billion. Even we unsophisticated Americans don't shoot ourselves in the foot, not unless you are a lib.

Torq. Please take your medicines

But you see, little birdie, I am but mad north-north-west: when the wind is southerly, I know a hawk from a handsaw.

Yes, but not for phones/iPads etc. These will still be manufactured overseas. The 500B investment is concentrating on building a large manufacturing facility in Houston to make the servers for Apple's own AI system Apple Intelligence.

observer.com/2025/02/apple-500b-investment-us-manufacturing-former-pledges/

As for wasting time, my main concern is about wasting my own time,

Then don't bother responding. You'll be doing me a favour. I know that you will not read that Observer article and Novi won't watch the couple of minute clip from Apple CEO Tim Cook. He wants to call me stupid but is he going to say the same of the Apple CEO who gives the explanation I have been talking about all along?

So here's how the 5D chess game went.

😂. I so wish that PF had a like button for posts.....

More of this please !

The problem the US has is that reversing off shoring is extremely difficult to do without a lot of pain.
Trump tried to take a shortcut, it was never going to work. Turns out that the rules written by the US were very short term and took no regard for the ordinary man.

The biggest problem a supposed strong man president has is how to save face after flip flopping in just a few months. The answer, as we all know is to flex muscle which is a scary prospect. Trumps history of not starting wars in his last term was sheer luck, reportedly he was talked out of using missiles on several Latin American countries and the Tehran teetotaller are now more wary than before. The Palestinians are screwed but his ethnic cleansing dream won't come to pass. Looks like Iran bombing is on the cards.

The man pi$$ed himself in public, we all saw it, he will lash out and if his tariff strategy is anything to go by he has no idea of the consequences.

US problem: 36-3-1 trillion bucks.

What can Trump do to keep it from getting worse?

The answer, as we all know is to flex muscle which is a scary prospect.

Hopefully there are still enough sane men in America to stop the caveman from doing something really stupid. Here's hoping.

What can Trump do to keep it from getting worse?

I already answered this several times but you just ignore it--he should introduce drastic austerity measures and prepare his nation for decades of sweat and tears after decades of ridiculous levels of overconsumption and living beyond their means.

If you're in a hole and you want to get out of it, stop digging! It's really as simple as that.

So in your mind, is 500 billion insignificant or even harmful? I am confused; your logic meanders in many unusual ways, it isn't easy to follow.

I'm trying to tell you that the investment will not be used in manufacturing iPhones/iPads etc in the US. They, and the bulk of Apple's other products, will still be manufactured overseas. I don't see what is so difficult to understand.
