Once the birds were out of the oven, we tucked in. The chlorine-washed white breast meat was dry and bland, while its dark meat was alternately juicy or slimy. The skin was saggy and gummy in parts; very little of it was crunchy. Comparatively, the air-chilled chicken's crisp skin added flavourful notes to its moister breast meat. The air-chilled dark meat - always my favourite part of the bird - was succulent.

You really cannot be this ignorant. Dacia built like a can of tunafish doors are hollow with next to zero structure. Close a door on one, then close a door on an American car and you can not only feel, but hear the difference in quality. The US does have avoidance systems, but the primary safety function is, and should be determined by survival. If you cannot avoid being hit by another vehicle its kind of important to be able to survive.

As for the tarrifs, they should be equal and standards should be equal. Try importing a US made car and then having to spend thousands to adapt to EU standards. That is exactly what the EU wants to keep in place because it is a protectionist policy. The US wants to build cars in the US, same as Mercedes, BMW and others want to build in the EU. The whole point of Trumps tariffs on cars and parts is to bring those jobs back to US factories. On my trip to Detroit last week there are litterally hundreds of vacant auto factories that can be repurposed, and reopened. As a side note, I saw a tank factory that was once a GM factory, it was pretty cool.

Billions in orders from factories in China are being cancelled in the US. China already closing factories and sending workers on "vacation". Want to see how tariff wars can be won? Watch everyone come to negotiate, just like the EU is now. Losing the US consumer market would absolutely send the EU into a recession.

Delighted with his choice of eggs, he consumed large quantities without ill effects. So Europe's claims that washing somehow damages eggs' defense mechanism is just BS, an artificial trade barrier, protection for European farmers who could not compete with American farmers in the level playing field.

"Balanced trade" is an impossibility. Your trade with the local supermarket will never be balanced but you will keep spending money there anyway. You offset that expenditure by getting a job.

Years ago in the US, the Yugo was being sold. Made in Yugoslavia it was a very small gas efficient car. When survivability standards were made more serious, the Yugo did not survive the testing. So it was gone from the US. I dont know how they did here in Poland or Europe at the time, but I havent seen any on the roads. Cars, where ever they are made, should allow you to survive a regular accident at say 60 km per hour. Dacia Duster gets a 3 star rating in this, other models not even close. Average ratings for GM, and Ford are higher. These are just examples. And I point them out because the EU does have protectionist policies in place. But now, with the threat of tariffs, they are willing to negotiate.

Imagine a Europe without access to all the American made or designed farming equipment. Imagine Europe with access to cars like the Mustang without additional costs. Or lower costs on Levi's and Guess clothing. These things that Europeans like, especially Poles, would become more popular and cheaper than today. Now imagine Mercedes selling for 25% more in the US. The wealthy wont care and will still buy, but the person who is financing for six years will have to look elsewhere. Simply put, Europe cannot afford to lose the consumer US market. Its a gluttonous market in every respect, and while I dislike that glottony, the world cannot live without it.
