USA News and Poland - part 14

"Sleepy Joe" oversaw the biggest stock gains in US history, 9 straight quarters of GDP growth, 12 straight months of inflation decline...

Jon, Jon, You conveniently forget, spending eight trillion dollars that we borrowed or printed to keep the economy from sinking, going to the bottom like a rock.
Even PF resident idiot SZczelec could run the American economy to the ground while claiming illusionary successes. All it took was an IQ of 70, probably the right number for Biden. As for your claim of declining inflation, all I can say is never existed a bigger lie; watch out before a fatal accident because you are stepping on your di*ck, big-time

This US thread is full of dyslexic conspiracy theorists...

But most of the Euros are full of sh*t

.
Then why bring it up?

Oh, so you bring up only conspiracy theories; truth is not allowed. Got it

Trump defends tariff decisions as hardline trade agenda spooks markets and allies

Rich,the sh*t is overflowing whenever Euro idiots start protesting tariffs, see they hate tariffs proposed by Trump but they love European tariffs

protesting tariffs

Who's 'protesting' them? Most of Europe is either boycotting g products and services from there or looking to purchase from a more stable source.

It was a correction not a crash

Jim would have said the same thing about the 1929 crash.

Most of the Euros are, and you, as their leader, sure they are boycotting while shaking in their boots because there is no nation stupid enough to allow
the highway robbery, no nation can provide what the US can,

EU tariffs - good

Right, Euro azzholes?

Expect a US recession soon..........

Novichok
13 Mar 2025  #221

Tariffs reduce imports and increase domestic production. That's why the EU has tariffs on US goods.

Acoording to America-hating Euro morons, US tariffs work in the opposite direction.

13 Mar 2025  #222

Tariffs reduce imports and increase domestic production.

And puts up costs to American citizens!!!!

No more Mercs or BMW's, no more Champagne or decent wine and beer(Which the US can't produce) No more high quality steel (That the US needs), no more cheap electricity from Canada for Michigan and New York..... the list goes on and on!
Shot yourself in the foot, I believe is an American phrase.

Expect a US recession soon..........

I hear constant drumming of upcoming calamity, and for some reason, it never comes. Milo, at least you are occasionally on the side of the angels.Let's s
assume you are right, which I doubt. Look at it as a positive development, like diarrhea, a process of rapid cleansing getting rid of poison injected into the system by four years of Biden's abuses. Clear sailing after that.

@Przelotnyptak1

To be fair, America's economy is so strong that it may avoid recession,but the downturn in the economy can already be seen by how the American Stock Exchange has reacted.Long term, I think it will get worse and turn Americans against Trump.

Why does the EU impose tariffs on US cars?

Miloslaw
13 Mar 2025  #226

Why does the EU impose tariffs on US cars?

I have no idea! But it makes little difference anyway,because apart from a handful of Tesla's, we don't by American cars.
German,Japanese and Korean are much better.

I have no idea!

Then leave such conversations to the adults who do. Or ask the EU why...

US tariffs - bad

EU tariffs - good

I answered your question but you chose to ignore my answer.Very rude.

(Which the US can't produce)

Milo, please hold on to your sanity.US can't produce? The US always produces first European are only good for duplicating, a Few years back, at the blind wine
tasting in France, the keyword is BLIND; California wines beat the hell out of French wines. The nasty European snobbism would never allow that to happen in the open testing.The same thing happened,few years ago in beer-tasting in Germany, Beer produced in my hometown, "Founders," took a gold medal
Milo,we produce a variety of excelant wines and beer here in America. The same applies to Champagne, only snobs look for foreign stuff. Our own are reasonably priced and taste better.

Przelotnyptak1
14 Mar 2025  #230

German,Japanese and Korean are much better.

But if we disallow sales of those cars, the economies mentioned above would collapse; on the other hand, we would double production, being careful not to overheat our economy. Milo thinks before speaking. We are doing the world a great favor, allowing the sales of their stuff. Wish and you might regret it later WE don't need you; you need us

But Europe is a much bigger market for cars than the US. So is China. How do you get the idea that the world can't manage without you ?

Those economies won't collapse because they make other things - not just cars.

And Americans will pay more for worse cars. The usual effect of trade barriers.

Novichok
14 Mar 2025  #232

And Americans will pay more for worse cars.

BS. German and British cars, those wonders nobody wants after 60,000 miles, are welcome here tariff-free - if made here.

This is the only reason why, you lying azzholes, hate Trump's tariffs.

Oh, fvck, they will move our Euro factories to America! No!!!!! Trump is pure evil!!!! And stupid!!! He will hurt US consumers!!!

BTW, when Ford moved a factory to Mexico, those cars didn't sell for less in the US.

This means that those cars made in the US after Ford comes back home will sell for the same price. Duh!

Don't make me repeat this again, idiot...

only snobs look for foreign stuff.

Let them pay triple.

@Miloslaw
California and NY wines are world class, European wines not needed. Beer in the US and its micro breweries, world class. Cadilac or BMW? Easily Cadilac. Electricity? You mean the Ontario threat of being cut off and then complete cratering when Trump boosted tariffs again? Steel? This doesnt effect every day people every day, its a long term effect. And, cheap steel is never good steel. So what cars cost more, and buildings cost more to build. Aluminum? More recylcling.

California and NY wines are world class,

Essig....

cms neuf
14 Mar 2025  #235

Yes California wines are great - but after these tarriffs they will be shut out of Europe - the biggest market

Steel of course affects people every day - it's what you put in machinery and bridges, which is what Golden Cow thinks Americans can build again

But there is little sense arguing with ordinary Americans about that because clear that understanding is very low - any tariffs imposed are going to face retailiation and it's a problem Golden Cow can't solve by sending the Marines

PolAmKrakow
14 Mar 2025  #236

@cms neuf
The tariffs from the EU are only on Whiskey. And California good wine is next to impossible to get here. Garbage Carlo Rossi and other cheap ones are everywhere. Try to find top shelf wine and its next to impossible. Europeans arent paying 250 Euro for a top US wine, or a thousand Euro for a bottle of Opus One. Wine is something I studied in my spare time and know it well, having owned three restaurants and selling it also gives me a pretty good knowledge base. Your statement on ordinary Americans is insulting, no matter how accurate it may be. This is just another example of why som many people are no longer participating on PF.

@Novichok
Are most Americans really clueless about this? Also good reason to have high tariffs on American food.

Reasons for cars:

1. Too large for most European roads and cities
2. Too much consumption of fuel
3. Car manufacturers in Europe lobby the EU politicians behind closed doors to make it more easy for them versus their competition (this is with regards to anything business outside EU)
4. American cars are not popular, therefore it bears no consequence to increase prices on something unpopular

Food tariffs:
1. American food are poisoned and unhealthy
2. Why buy food from across the Atlantic when it can be grown in Europe
3. a lot of American food uses corn sirup instead of sugar. Highly unpopular in europe and finds no understanding in Europe about this.
4. American big firms tried to get Ukrainian grain in to Europe while being made with «American standards» it has lead to larger concerns of American imports in general

They are.
However, you asked the wrong person because Novi is particularly clueless about everything. In rare cases he is not, he pretends to be.

PolAmKrakow

@Mr Grunwald
You dont need tariffs on US food. Most things are not allowed in because they use chemicals and artificial dyes. And I am glad for this. Great point on American cars being too big, especially in Poland. When I see imported US cars like a Cadilac Escalade I just laugh. Lots of people importing pickup trucks now though. So the VAT on an imported car is much higher than any car sent to the US from Europe. They should be made to match. Simple solution and then let the consumer decide.

Following that thinking though, all the other US goods, like clothes, electronics and so on, the VAT is excessive compared to tariffs on EU goods to the US. And that VAT is on top of EU tariffs on the goods themselves. Example is I bought a pair of Levi's the other week in Poland more than 400 pln, anywhere in the US you can get them for about half that cost. Guess and other items my wife likes I buy in the US and bring back because they are half the cost as they are here. Theres a big inbalance.

Mr Grunwald

@PolAmKrakow
I personally don't need any tariff, it hampers good relations.

EU on the other hand lives off tariffs (yeah you heard me) all EU beurocrats an politicians get a lot of cash and money to administrate from trade outside of the EU.

So you don't need to convince me about tariffs, just figure out how to make EU officials bankrupt
