@johnny reb, what is China's military might good for if the US can simply nuke them? Ukraine isn't attacking RuSSia proper, even though they have every right to do that, for the same reason - because RuSSia could nuke them into oblivion.

Because China has nukes too.
China has now taken over the United States to have the most powerful military in the world.
China has military spook satellites up in space that follow our military satellites 24/7/365 that are capable of shooting our satellites down.
China could knock out our whole countries power grid within seconds with their capabilities from outer space.
Both the U.S. and China have powerful lasers that can melt just about anything from nuclear missiles in flight, jet bombers to satellites.

@johnny reb, as far as I know China has far less nukes than the US. But yes, both of those countries have nukes and that's why I doubt they are likely to get into a direct war with each other. I don't see any development that would be serious enough to start a nuclear war. That would be insane, and both Chinese and American leadership don't strike me as insane..

China has about 350 nukes that we know of.
How many do you think it would take to wipe out Six of our biggest cities and Washington D.C. ?
That would put our pussified country into a frenzy.

Even if nukes aren't used the U.S. is going to take some heavy losses that I don't think we are ready for.

We don't have the resources to replenish such losses at the moment and China does.

But nukes can be used, because both the US and China have them. That means a "hot" war between those two countries is unlikely to happen, imho. Of course, in theory, there's always such threat, even if very small, but it's as likely, or maybe even less likely, to happen as "hot" war between the US and the Soviet Union. It never came to a "hot" war between the US and the USSR, because both had nuclear arsenals - so, there was only Cold War.
