France (supported by Britain) was obligated by our alliance to begin offensive against Germany by 16th of September. That's one of the reasons Stalin waited with his own invasion of Poland until the 17th of September - he wanted to make sure our allies won't honor their commitments (which would most probably lead to swift defeat of Hitler's regime - most of Germany's armed forces were tied up on the Polish front, with only minimal garrisons defending the western borders). However, after performing the mobilization France felt the offensive was not the best idea and just waited on its ass for another year until Germans came and conquered Paris.

Perhaps there was no choice and western allies had to sell us in Yalta. But popular perception is: since we were betrayed in the past, it may happen again. After all international treaties are just declaration of intentions, so why would North Atlantic Treaty be any different?

The first thing I would do if I came into ownership of this godforsaken forum, would be to invest $10-20K into modernizing it's UI/UX, so that I don't feel embarrassed anytime my gf or anybody else sees me sitting on it.

The second thing I would do is hire two moderators in the European and North American time zones, and actually pay them money - so that pedophiles and Chinese bots receive less exposure.

Maybe I would add a dedicated news section with a moderated comment section, since that seems like what so much of the content revolves around.

I would fix the chat and direct message system, as well. So that people actually use them.
