You are probably talking about groups of Poles that know each other in England. That is totally normal for people, but still even in this regard I think Russians/Poles exhibit a higher degree of assimilation than others. They try to move out to better areas ASAP, without placing too much import on staying close to other Russians/Poles.

I was talking about a Pole meeting another stranger Pole that recently emigrated to Geneva, for example. In this instance, the Pole is not gonna have some overpowering drive to help out his compatriot, but will instead likely avoid him until he has fully settled down.

Poles and Romanians, who make up most of the Eastern European immigrants in my area seem to be able to identify their compatriots instantly.
And strike up conversations easily.
I must admit that I can tell a Pole or a Romanian from a distance too.
