That makes it hillbilly country, but I don't remember hearing much in the way of hillbilly accents....

A lot of talk about trailers.
There are a lot of house trailers in the US south not just poor people but lots of middle class in the countryside (easier than building). I've known of families worth millions of dollars who lived in trailers (which becomes a habit after a while)
Further north it's just poverty/hard cases in trailers but not in the south (also trailers aren't really a hillbilly thing, they work better in flat land).
