Ahemm, an entirely different set of particulars there, buddy!
The US Constitution allows such expressions of freedom in our
First Amendment. Ever heard of, much less read and understood, it?
The German Constitution or Basic Law authored in 1947, two years
after the end of the War, was written as a last minute safeguard to prevent
perversions of the late, lamented joke of a document known as the Weimar
Constitution as well as even the remotest possibilty that something as
unspeakably heinous as Hitler's Third Reich might ever arise again on
German soil.
As with the history of Germany and America, Germany's was born out of
submission to authority, in German "Untertangeist", as opposed to America's,
born out of rebellion and insubordination to unreasoning authority.
The two histories couldn't be more different if they tried:-)
