You, on the other hand, as a trans-American (a person born Polish who identifies as American) would seem to be better suited to discuss LGBT (well, at least the "T" part).

Since men can self-id as women, identifying as American is 1000 times easier...No drugs, no surgeries, no regrets...

Also, self-identification is not always a premaditated decision...My reaction to the US flag is exactly the same as that of the millions born here...the most beautiful flag ever designed.

Tolerance goes a long way. Not promoting, advertising and fostering (as it often is today) but tolerance in its good old meaning (patience, acceptance, and understanding). Live and let live and all that.

They won't as long as gay pride parades involve gross and inappropriate "festivity" (and I will spare us all the photos) that cause endless damage to normal members of LGBT community. Those parades reinforce every negative stereotype about homosexuals and play right into the hands of those who promote hatred and lack of tolerance.

That also came after a very long and very hard fight. In some primitive countries, you can't even get married at all. You'd probably try to pretend that the decades of campaigning were "shoving it down your throat".
