Yet another car has been raped, I mean culturally enriched by a muslim refugee.

Paraphrasing a line from "Miracle on 34th Street" as Maureen O'Hara snaps at John Payne for the latter's pie-eyed idealism, I respond to you Johnny Boy, just don't lets excoriate "hogwash liberalism" quite so fast; we may soon find it's the only kind of hogwash worth saving:-)))

Just something to think about from your favorite PF-nemisisLOL

One may start to think that total extermination is the only answer.

That's been tried. It doesn't work. It's also considered a little morally dubious by most people.

probably you all read the alternative nonmainstream news.

the refugees are committing 38 more times more crimes than the locals.

Also about 98% of the "refugees" are all men, and about 25% of them I S I S soldiers.

Cologne stabbing victim Henriette Reker elected mayor

"Reker's attacker, a 44-year-old unemployed man arrested at the scene, had a racist motivation for the stabbing, Cologne police said."

Three Swedish refugee centres hit by fire [this week]

"The school building was to be used to accommodate refugees and had recently been decorated."

> Glad to be avoiding these issues. We will accept our refugees but in a controlled and thorough manner.

@TheOther,

What I expect is more balanced and intelligent leadership from the so-called liberal left aka the Merkel & Gauck team! If hundreds of thousands of foreigners descending upon Europe could be successfully integrated, both religiously/socially, as well as linguistically, there would be no problem. Unfortunately, Europe isn't America, and a US-style melting pot will become just a Mulligan's Stew and is a recipe for disaster.

The refugees themselves aren't to blame, yet they will be made to feel like scapegoats (....once again).

Cologne stabbing victim Henriette Reker

Terrible.

There was also a stabbing in Gdynia this week. Also terrible. But I doubt you get my point.

Of course this is terrible. She seems to be recovering quickly but I'm sure she'll remain traumatized for a long time...

@Doug: re the stabbing in Gdynia, I suppose nothing to do with politics but a "simple" fight among drunk scums.

I do not advocate violence. But when governments ignore the will of the people bad things start of happen.

And to balance things out and be fair and all - an open borders activist is stabbed by migrants:

breitbart.com/london/2015/10/15/makes-sad-says-open-borders-activist-brutally-stabbed-migrant-gang/

And in case anyone missed this one. An open borders activist was gang raped by migrants and then pressured to not report the incident (presumably to not stop the flow of gang rapists into Europe).

breitbart.com/london/2015/10/06/no-borders-activist-gang-raped-migrants-pressured-silence-not-damage-cause

We are in for interesting times.

More is to be expected. Although I am in favor of helping real war refugees who cannot stay in their home countries, I am completely against the "Merkel way". In Germany they are already having a lot of problems with so many refugees (1 million expected this year). A genuine bor...llo. Both Germans and migrants are getting pis###sed at situation and we'll see the result. I heard on tv this am a Syrian refugee saying that in shelters Albanians and Arabs fight against each other...

It seems to me that it is already UNmanageable in Germany so Merkel shall decide to keep refugees in 3rd countries, like (and not only) Turkey.

Merkel is completely irresponsible but her arrogance makes her blind.

mafketis
19 Oct 2015  #761

(1 million expected this year).

And that's before family reunification kicks in, they're expecting each arrival to ultimately bring in between 4 and 8 family members.

Again, how is this sustainable?

Although I am in favor of helping real war refugees who cannot stay in their home countries

I don't think anyone is against that. But turning the space between Syria and Germany into an endurance obstacle course with a prize for the survivors is the stupidest way ever (leaving aside the question of non-refugees passing).

Putting traumatized people into a new country with a language they don't know and whose culture is full of things they've been socialized to regard as inherently immoral* helps them..... how?

*like pork, alcohol, casual socializing by men and women who aren't family, casual nudity, dogs as pets, for an observent Muslims it's not Deutschland but Haramland.

Yes, again, Maf! (Are you German?). In fact, they said on tv MORE than 1 million just this year and the German police's spokesman claims that Germany needs at least 30,000 more cops to handle situation.

A complete borde###llo which shall only bring chaos (if not destruction) to European continent and won't help refugees.

I'm very pessimistic as it seems that anger is growing in Germany, extreme right is getting stronger.

That Merkel should be removed from office. It may be a matter of weeks...

That's most of my ancestory (on both parents' sides) but I'm American in terms of language and culture (though living in Poland).

You are aware that every Syrian man has to do 30 months of compulsory military training, and that every Syrian man and woman born before 1988 has attended military school from age 12 to 18, corresponding to grades 7-12?

Is Sweden going to be the first domino to collapse? How will Poland treat any Swedes that might want to emigrate Eastward?

Except for some stray CELTA-arrivals looking among other things to teach English in Poland as an interesting way of honing their own second-language skills, can't frankly see why Swedes en masse would want to come to Poland:-)

Says another immigrant? Do you presume to speak for us Brits Lyzko?:) I will let you off this time with a warning:) - seeing as I presume a lot of things about Poles.......

Warning?? 'Scuse me, bloke!! Of what am I being warned, pray??! I'm neither Polish nor British, but a Yank who's long been an interested (non-detached) observer of the Polish scene:-)

Last time I looked, Poles are white, Christian Europeans with a long history of contact with the UK. By virtue of both their faith as well as their skin color, they fit in superficially to a far greater degree than those groups I mentioned, even if English is not their first language.

Dougpol1

'Don't wish to appear snide, but the "brain drain" would seem more applicable in reverse!

Nonsense. Now you're being naughty Lyzko.

I make a good living from education and I can't see why you deride it, and us hard-working teachers. Some of us pay middle band taxes, and I don't doubt the skies the limit if you are/were a workaholic. Most of the teachers who I know from the UK build very nice homes over here and have done alright thanks very much. And others have contributed just plenty:)

Those of us who teach ESP have to read all manner of literature. For me it's IT/computer Science and Oil industry/Maritime vocabulary mainly, which is not exactly a steep learning curve, but you have to be on the ball when you get a briefing from the company in question and have to be up to speed. It's not just a question of reading a few paper abstracts.

It requires research and brain power as well. Having said that, my brain drained years ago:)

Back to the topic of the thread please

so-called liberal left aka the Merkel & Gauck team

Merkel is a conservative, not a liberal. That's what makes her decision to open the borders so puzzling.

Unfortunately, Europe isn't America

Most muslims in Europe have no intention to integrate, it seems.

US-style melting pot

There were always prejudices when it comes to immigrants. Just remember what happened to the Irish, Italians, Polish and Japanese, and what is now happening to the Hispanics/Latinos. Not much different to xenophobia in Europe. Unlike Europe though, immigrants to the US tend to integrate after one or two generations.

yet they will be made to feel like scapegoats (....once again).

Hopefully not, but I'm starting to get worried. Even the Swiss have voted for ultra right-wingers now.

Lyzko
20 Oct 2015  #772

EVEN the Swiss??? Ever heard of a chap named Blocher? Check out "Das Boot ist voll" and your Heidiland naivete towards the Swiss during WWII and after might change:-)

Merkel may be conservative in the European sense, nonetheless, like her predecessor Schroeder, she continued and continues to ally herself with socialist causes!

20 Oct 2015  #773

Merkel is a conservative, not a liberal. That's what makes her decision to open the borders so puzzling.

For many people she may be conservative in theory but her actions are proving to be more and more liberal.

The truth though, according to wikipedia she is actually a liberal-conservative (yes such a thing exists)...

"The Christian Democratic Union of Germany is a Christian democratic[2][3][4] and liberal-conservative[2] political party in Germany. It is the major catch-all party of the centre-right in German politics.[5][6] Along with its Bavarian sister party the Christian Social Union in Bavaria (CSU), the CDU forms the CDU/CSU grouping, also known as the Union, in the Bundestag."

By European standards, Merkel's (possibly) a conservative. By American standards, the lady's fire-engine RED and wouldn't stand a snowball's chance in hell of being elected local dog catcher!

TheOther
20 Oct 2015  #775

For many people she may be conservative in theory

As Lyzko correctly said: she's conservative in the European sense. In the US she would be called a socialist, although many of our American friends have funny ideas what socialism really is...

socialist causes

There's a difference between a socialist and a social democrat.

...the Swiss during WWII

The end of WW2 was 70 years ago. A lot has changed since then, in case you haven't noticed. :)

The Swiss, Swedish and Dutch are all considered liberal (some more, some less), and each and every one of them has voted for far right parties. That's the scary part.

Polonius3
20 Oct 2015  #776

liberal-conservative

In America the term liberal has lost its original meaning of an advocate of laissez-faire economics (as little government as possible) and come to mean a leftist or social democrat, although the latter term is rarely used there. Obama is regarded as an ultra-liberal which means he is for expanded welfare programmes, sometimes referred to as the "nanny state", and libertine social solutions.

Lyzko
20 Oct 2015  #777

TheOther,

On the surface, perhaps! If the Swiss were so liberal, why then threaten whistle blowers such as Markus Imhof and others for their willingness to expose Switzerland's dirty little secrets? If the Dutch are so "tolerant", why such anti-Muslim xenophobia??

Makes ya wonder, doesn't it?

Polonius3
20 Oct 2015  #778

anti-Muslim xenophobia

Whenever anyone raises the allegation of "anti-Muslim xenophobia", one should think 9/11, London, Madrid, suicide bombers, public decapitations and other outrageous, horrific terrorist deeds. Sure, not all Muslims are to blame, but ordinary people don't want to take a chance. The terrorists amongst Muslim masses do not have "terrorist" tattooed on their foreheads.

InPolska
20 Oct 2015  #779

I don't know how the whole thing shall finish but most probably not in a nice way to all ... It seems that in Germany, a lot of people get radicalized against Merkel and Pegida + others are likely to organize themselves in an "extreme right party" and we all know how "nasty" the German extreme-right can be..... . Refugee shelters are burned down on a daily basis and it's only the beginning...

This is scarry and not too far away from us, in Poland and in Europe.

SAD NEWS

It would be worth to be mentioned in the context of this thread that are animals also victims of all this what happening around us, in case with refugee crisis. Its not only humans who suffer.

Barbed wire that was built by Hungary as a wall on Hungarian-Serbian border, in order to stop migrants, actually cut off traditional migratory route of European deer. Animals dies in masses. Entire herds of deer.
