I have dual nationality and always leave the U.S. on my Jamaican passport (who would be there to question it since you don't go thru Immigrations & Customs upon departure) for the reason of taking in many items without having to pay any duty on them as allowed by Jamaican Customs for it's citizens.

(As long as the items are not for resale)
Coming back into the U.S. I have always use my U.S. passport knowing U.S. Immigration & Customs Officers have NO sense of humor.

So while it may be a law, it is one that is not enforced for law abiding citizens with dual nationality leaving the U.S.

I would think if you had dual nationality with Poland that you would be allowed to leave the U.S. on your Polish passport if you were going to Poland.

In other words, JR, you leave the US as a Jamaican national to whom the rule quoted by TheOther does not apply since it is meant for American nationals and not Jamaican ones. On return, however, you reveal yourself at the border as a law-abiding American national showing his American passport as prescribed in the above mentioned rule.

The United States Citizens no longer have any privacy.

Today I can not obtain Health Insurance, Auto Insurance, House Insurance, Passport, Enroll in College, Drivers license, a loan from a bank, have a bank account, cell phone service, a credit card, rent a place to live, NOTHING without first giving all those people my Social Security number.

The lying bastards now issue a Social Security number to all babies at birth no questions ask. (Americans are now just a number)

The first thing they tell you when you get your American passport: never use your other (foreign) one when you leave the USA or you run the risk to lose your U.S. citizenship. You would have to be stupid to even try.


You forget that your passport is scanned at check-in and that your data is forwarded to Homeland Security/ Immigrations.

I went through the entire cycle of immigrating, becoming a citizen, getting my fist US passport, renewing my US passport and nobody ever informed me verbally or in writing about any such thing. Using a US passport to commit fraud is another matter.

The US has no control over other countries and their requirements for documents. Poland expects Polish citizens to carry Polish passport while in Poland. Enforcement is again another matter. During my second visit in April this year, it was clear at the Warsaw airport that I was born in Poland because my US passport says so but they didn't notice or care.

Me too, and I received the stern warning not to use my other passport when travelling to and from the U.S.. What you do once you've reached your destination abroad is none of their business, of course.

Then, we are in agreement. I wouldn't dare leave the US without my US passport.
Just for fun, I walked into the US Embassy in Warsaw to find out what would happen if I lost it. The good news was that they would give me a travel document to go back home on the basis of the documents I would still have with me. The bad news was that the next appointment to start the process would be a week from now. Not good if you lost everything.

WRONG,you can still be prosecuted under US laws in the US under US laws,no matter what other passports you hold.I have 3 passports of different countries and one overseas passport but as suggested by US embassy I am still under US laws anywhere in the world plus under other country laws that I am citizen of.And you can never participate in any military work for another country or you will and can be prosecuted in the US and stripped of US citizenship.

I think we were only discussing using other passports for identification, not committing crimes.

I was actually thinking of travelling outside the U.S., not of breaking the law somewhere. Getting involved in another country's military is a no-no, that's correct.

A really weird thing happened a couple of days ago. I took my laptop to the Polish Consulate to show them some of the posts in this forum as evidence that I am a Russian troll and not a Polish citizen. At my advanced age, sometimes I am not sure what I am.

Well, they read most of them and, after a short huddle, they told me that the posters who wrote them are mentally disturbed morons. Five minutes later, after a short finger printing ceremony and a signature I was on my way home with a brand new Polish passport.

Polish passports are biometric since 2006 and are made in Poland.They take 4 to 6 weeks after fingure printing.here is the Polish consulate website that clearly mentions that
