Also important for the understanding of the situation. From the angle of Poland, it is clear that Croatia belongs to the German sphere of influence, while Serbs resist to Germanics and in that have claims (historical rights and suffered great genocide) on their lands in Dalmatia and what is now Croatia and Bosnia. Add to it that Hungary also has claims on what is now Croatia, so Poland has an easy choice- would support Serbia and Hungary rather than local pro-germanic players. Plus, Serbs can help if become ugly with Russia as a strong meditative factor.

That is one aspect. Now, this ... In a situation when Russia obviously wants Ukrainian parts of the Black Sea for itself, the only warm sea available for Poland in Europe is Dalmatia, exactly region that is in dispute between Germany/Austria and Serbia. So again Poland has an easy choice- would support Serbia knowing that China and Russia giving all signals that would support the Polish-Serbian axis from Baltic to Balkan in the face of Intermarium ie Central European Union. That is what the USA also wants to see for many reasons.

Plus, add to all this development. With Serbia in play and strong, the region will gravitate to Serbia. With Russia satisfied, with the USA satisfied, with China satisfied, countries would in the region gravitate to the Poland-Serbia axis ie the Central European Union, countries like Bulgaria, Romania, and Greece. On Baltic, many would be interested to join in Central European Union.
