That book was written many decades before the Frankfurt school were active.

I don't think Maurice Samuel ever visited Frankfurt in his life.

I know this if off topic so you can post what you want but have you ever posted anything useful on this forum ? A piece of advice or an opinion about Poland ?

To understand the threads that bind and form certain aspects of history you are absent applying the necessary inductive reasoning required to understand. Don't be concerned over it, it's ok.

He certainly wasn't part of the Frankfurt School, despite being a thoroughly decent person and a sound academic. A pretty good novelist too.

The silly OP's quote is his 'meme', by the way, is entirely and deliberately out of context.
