For me it's more like pure hope. For its great results in the parliamentary elections, England deserved to be in the final. Same France. The first estimates of today's results in France are unexpectedly good. The far right of the PF will go into depression.

You had the luck to end up in the free, capitalist, democratic West after the big powers shared the spoils after the end of WWII, nothing more....just luck! But some of you seem to take it for granted and throw it away just like that.

Look at history. We've not had a dictatorship since around 1660 (and that was short-lived) and the Frogs haven't since Louis Napoleon (not counting Vichy). Socialism has been good for both countries.


And of course we voted for an even more Socialist government in 1945, perhaps the best government we've had.

You seem to think that capitalism somehow equates to freedom and that the only alternative to it is authoritarianism.

It's not me....its the history!

The only working, successful, liberal, democratic societies had been capitalist ones! They won the "battle of the systems" with a resounding victory in 1989....as people won their freedoms from Socialism/Communism at last....

Why do you forgetting/ignoring that FACT?

(Not to mention that so many leftist Westerner had been and still are fans of the socialist oppression of peoples till 1989 and even today..."everything for the good cause", as long as they themselves can keep enjoying the western, capitalist freedoms and comforts, right? Right!)

From an Eastern European version of communism. Socialism as practiced successfully in developed societies has nothing to do with that.

And we've chosen a Socialist government. Your country has elements of Socialism too; without them there would be chaos.
