How stupid can you get.

You set the lowest bar for how stupid people can be.

Jim, a piece of advice, that I am certain you will ignore because you are an arrogant idiot that thinks he is always right and never listens to anyone else....NEVER EVER take on someone in a public debate that knows more about the subject than you do...... when it comes to Rock Music, i will destroy an ignoramus like you.....

I don't claim to be an expert, but know more than most and much more than you.....

Going back to Rock'n'Roll, in the 50's and early sixties, in the very racist USA black performers were called R'n'B whilst white singers were called R'n'R......

Forget Elvis.... this kind of music was around well before he appeared.

This is like the beginning of R'n'R and was released in 1950.

This single was released over a year before Elvis..... Bill Haley beat Elvis to Rock'n'Roll..... hide your shameful ignorant face Jim......

Miloslaw
13 May 2024  #303

By the mid fifties most singers had clocked on that Rock'n'Roll was the only gig in town...... this is the song that made Rock'n'Roll a global phenomenon.

Let me make myself very clear. America was the birthplace of Bluegrass, Country,Cajun, Jazz, Blues R'n'B, R'n'R, Soul, Funk,Disco and Rap!

The most innovative country in the world for Popular Music!
What did Europe have to offer?Various Folk Musics and Classical music....... I reckon America wins overall!

But though they were the innovators,it doesn't mean that they are the best......

It is very hard to judge the success of a band, but here are a couple of clues.

Biggest bands by touring revenues;

1.Rolling Stones.
2.U2.
3.Elton John.

Biggest bands by record sales;

1.Beatles.
2.Eagles.
3.Led Zeppelin.
4.AC/DC.
5.Pink Floyd.

I could go deeper, but I know that it would just produce more British bands....... as it stands,of the 8 bands or artists mentioned, 5 are British,1 is Irish, 1 is Australian(But partly Scottish!) and 1 is American.

For a small island, Britain kicks way above it's weight!

when it comes to Rock Music, i will destroy an ignoramus like you.....

Where have we heard that before. lol

If you continue to attack me, I will demolish you.
Back off or be a loser.

Bak Bak Bak, that was two years ago and we are still waiting. 😴

I don't claim to be an expert,

But you are an expert of copy and pasting Wiki.

This is like the beginning of R'n'R and was released in 1950.

I know, I was alive in 1950 and you were not.
That makes me the expert and you the copy and paste Wiki boy.
How about Tracy Chapman telling her story

I love that song and the story she tells.

Hey buddy, this is the sh!t we were jamming to when I went to college just so you know I am no pup to rock.

The J. Geils Band that I am sure you have never heard of there on that little island.

bing.com/videos/riverview/relatedvideo?q=j+giels+band+wammagammer&mid=E8EB4F4CE6A1A28C8DECE8EB4F4CE6A1A28C8DEC&FORM=VIRE

I took a little virgin girl of 18 years old to this concert and introduced her to cocaine and we danced all thru this concert.
After that she fell in love with me and wanted to male babies.
I wonder what ever happened to her. 🥴
You are so clueless Milo, so clueless.

The most innovative country in the world for Popular Music!

Of that there is no doubt.

I could go deeper, but I know that it would just produce more British bands.

Have you read any of Simon Napier-Bell's books about the history of the recording industry. They're pretty good.

Blues R'n'B,

For years their jazz and RnB musicians couldn't even use the front door of concert halls or hotels.

1.Beatles.
2.Eagles.
3.Led Zeppelin.
4.AC/DC.
5.Pink Floyd.

Eagles are from the U.S.A.
AC/DC are from Australia I believe
The Ed Sullivan Show in the U.S.A. made the Beatles

You should have found all that information when you googled Wikipedia rock&roll

The Ed Sullivan Show in the U.S.A. made the Beatles

More that they went on it because they were already famous.

johnny reb
14 May 2024  #310

they were already famous.

Perhaps in England however the Ed Sullivan Show here in the U.S. popped them to the world.
I am sure the expert Milo will be able to google that fact and copy and paste it here for us.

jon357
14 May 2024  #311

the world.

"The world" didn't watch it and most people in the world had certainly never heard of Ed Sullivan.

Even in your country they were met by thousands of screaming fans at the airport, prior to them being on that TV show.

johnny reb
14 May 2024  #312

they were met by thousands of screaming fans at the airport,

All by design as most of them in front were hired to stage the political hype for the Ed Sullivan Show.
The stand ins behind them all were promised free hotdogs and a coke just to show up.

jon357
14 May 2024  #313

Tosh. They were on that TV show because they were already a sensation.

Feniks
14 May 2024  #314

they were already a sensation.

' I Want to Hold Your Hand ' was already number one on Billboard's U.S. charts before they even got to America.

The J. Geils Band that I am sure you have never heard of there on that little island.

I remember a crappy song called ' Centrefold'

@ Joker

I really liked the Robert Cray Band song you posted. Not heard of him before.

Miloslaw
14 May 2024  #315

@Joker and several other posters, including me have already commented on how childish Tom's(JR Jim) posts are on here.
But his post 7236 really caps them all!
I won't respond to his juvenile posts directly because they don't deserve an adult response.
But I will say that he claims to have taken a virgin girl to a J.Geils gig and introduced her to cocaine!
This raises several questions.
1.How did he know she was a virgin?Did she tell him and he believed her?Or did he physically check?
2.For someone who slags people off for smoking the occasional spliff, who are you trying to impress by saying that you introduced a young virgin girl to a hard drugs?

3.Why put this young girl through all that?Firstly you gave her your horrible company, secondly you introduced her to Cocaine and lastly that godawful band, that we have all, unfortunately come across in the UK.......

His posts are truly puerile.....Jim loads Google to explain puerile.......HaHaHa!

They were on that TV show because they were already a sensation.

Absolutely!!!! Jim is a prize ignoramus!

[quote=Feniks]' I Want to Hold Your Hand ' was already number one on Billboard's U.S. charts before they even got to America.

Again, Jim has been shown up by his own complete ignorance.

Songs to avoid by the J.Geils band;

All of them!!!All Pop Rock crap!

I am going to change the mood completely tonight on this thread with some ethnic music.
Many of you will already have heard of The Songhoy Blues who had to escape Mali because of Islamic persecution.
But did you know they were this good?

Miloslaw
14 May 2024  #317

I am no great fan of Rap, but French Rap sounds so much softer to me than UK or USA.
I don't know how many of you on here speak French, but curious to what you think of this song.

Feniks
14 May 2024  #318

The Songhoy Blues

I hadn't heard of them but I liked that song.

speak French, but curious to what you think of this song.

I'm not a huge fan of rap to be honest so it's not really my thing. I can still read French pretty well and I used to be fluent as I worked in France a long time ago.

Continuing in the ethnic vein, here's a couple of songs by Istanbul DJ and Sound Artist Hey Douglas:

Hey! Douglas - Yekte

Hey! Douglas - Leylim Leylim

Miloslaw
14 May 2024  #319

Again, apologies to those of you that don't know French.
This is a French guy of Algerian descent that swears his loyalty to the the country where he was born in this song, rather than his ethnic descent.

We need more like him!

I'll end my posts tonight with this French speaking Belgian his drunken attitude is all an act..... as you will see at the end of the video......the police know him and are very accommodating....

@Feniks

I loved both of your posts, especially the first one, which to my ears was Turkish dance music infused with a bit of Funk and Rock.

The second tune was more Turkish Dance for me, with a slight Funk infusion.

I also love the fact that Great Grandpa Tom(Jim/JR) will not get any of this music at all because it will all go way over his head!

What a pathetic and childish post!

PF members, please check what I posted. This drunken or perhaps cocaine ridden imbecile posted what he posted.

I posted

I loved both of your posts

And he twisted it around in a moronic way to try to gain advantage.

He failed.Tom(JR/Jim) is now officially a complete moron!

And seemingly getting worse by the day........

You don't sniff coke you pussy, you snort coke.
Yes those were the good old days 50 odd years ago.
Now I am old and wise because God looked over me when I was young and stupid.
I remember meeting a little sweetheart at a football game one Saturday afternoon.
She had an eightball of blow to share so I bought a fifth of Jack Danials and we shacked up that night.
That little thing was way overdue
I took her back to her dorm room the next day and I never saw her again.
Those were the best days of my life..
This is the tune we listen to when I went to high school which was before you were born.....hell joker, you might be my bastard child for all I know. Hoot !

Please keep your fantasies about drugging teenage girls until they cant give any kind of consent to yourself.

johnny reb

@Barns
Hey Barns, that's the whole point of it, how do you think you were conceived back in the day where candy was dandy but liquor was quicker. Hoot !

It's a teenage boys duty to groom future wives.
Sad that you missed out on your days as a youth.

Rape fantasies are just that...

Lazarus

Rape fantasies are just that...

Notice how yet again Jim's rape fantasies involve teenage girls? Just like the photos in his housemate's collection were all teenage girls (and apparently tweens too). But his housemate served eight years in prison for those photos. How long will it be before Jim's sick fantasies get him into more trouble?

He's already moved on to fantasies about plying teenage girls with illegal drugs and legal drugs in the hope that they'll let him f*ck them. How long before he decides to just slip a Micky Finn into their drink so they can't stop him raping them? He's a sick man and needs either treatment or locking up.
