Stupid people confuse sports with competitions. Shooting is competition but not a sport.
I understand what you're saying, but...:
An activity to be classified as a sport must include athletes. Athletes must use maximum strength or speed (that requires maximum strength, too) to win or they are not "athletes".
...you're lumping different things together. For example, synchronised swimming require strength, speed and endurance. It isn't dance, so how should it be classified?
And would you call football, baseball and cricket a sport then? You do have to have some speed, some strength and endurance to participate in those sports, but they're not about "maximum strength or speed", they're more about skills.
The meaning and definitions of words are not private. Your personal preferences are irrelevant.
Well, I didn't change those definitions - other people did. Archery, for example, was introduced into Olympics already in 1900.
