If there will be no military actions against LNR/DNR, chances of military intervention is very low. And if Kiev will dare to act with forceful "final solution" - nobody will care about possible sanctions and other consequences. Probably this will be end of "project Ukraine" and Poland will need to take care about reintegration of Kresy Wschodnie quickly. I doubt that Putin will repeat Stalin's mistake.

Anyway, interests of Polish population is not in a top part of priorities list for your present political elite. While EU/Germany pay to keep plebs not hungry and relatively silent, they earns their "social rating" with masters from another parts in the world. ;) Politician cadence period is much shorter than human life, anyway. ;)

I think it is bad idea for Ukrainians to fight of Russian invasion if it will lead to huge human and material losses. Not worth of it. All the same no one will accept Ukraine in EU. What Ukraine is going to loose with exception of independence?
