Poland`s aid to Ukraine if Russia invades

@amiga500
I was in a town Novoiavorivsk not too long ago. Very close to where the bombing took place. There are a lot of retired military there, and there is a very serious local militia. There is also a fairly large community of people who would labeled as "dangerous" in western views toward certain grey area business activities. These people are extreme in their views toward Russia and Russians, I mean extreme like I have never seen outside of NY after 9/11. If NATO forces were there at the time, and if any were killed, this will escalate quickly. IF NATO forces were killed and nothing happens, Putin will take all of Ukraine in a matter of a few months.

Putin is not crazy enough to make an attack inside of Poland. That would definitely bring the full response. But it will not surprise me to see things get within a kilometer or two of the border.

Yes. He's making a step forward and the West is taking a step back.

Exactly.

The plastic West is not even willing to impose proper sanctions (that I already listed in my previous posts) let alone to take any real military steps. This is so predictable it would be almost funny (if it wasn't for those dead women and children). :-/

Putin is not crazy enough to make an attack inside of Poland.

He is not crazy at all. He is a gambler betting on the West's cowardice - and he's winning the bet.

That would definitely bring the full response.

Like PizzaHut definitively closing all their business operations in Russia?

The BBC has several articles on this hit. The picture above from February shows US instructors training UA forces.

May the hand that guided those missiles and targeted them become golden.

If there are any NATO instructors among casualties, this will be a breaking point after which Polish MiGs and NATO more advanced anti-aircraft systems will be supplied to Ukraine without any hesitation. At last. You will get what you wanted. :))

Don't be so happy Crnogorac3! Those rockets killed NATO personnel (even if it will never be admitted). It won't be long now before western cinema chains temporarily close all their movie theatres in Russia. Perhaps, who knows, maybe a full SWIFT ban will be threatened (but not imposed) again.

And if Russians dare to kill even more women and children then there will be no other option but to withdraw all Subway bars from the area of the Russian Federation. The things will get f*cking serious now - I tells ya!

If there are any NATO instructors among casualties, this will be a breaking point

Do me a favour, Pawian. Don't hold your breath.

There were no NATO forces there. These are the people who had been confirming activities in Donetsk and Luhansk. Typically they would report on cease fire breaches and had mostly been relocated to Lviv since the Russian invasion.

I think it is time to do the limited no fly zone over western Ukraine and see what happens. F Putin and the Russians. Time to push back.

Hmm, good point... 🤔

And fall off from the flesh.

There were no NATO forces there.

Of course not. No NATO forces at all. And this is the story that we will stick to.

it is time to do the limited no fly zone over western Ukraine (...) Time to push back.

*sighs*

Guys... I really like you. You're decent folks. So, please, do not attempt to hold your breath while you wait for NATO to do anything substantial. xD

So u mean NATO trainers, or just OSCE observers there? Isin't OSCE part of the Western Alliance? Are you playing it down because this is the tipping point?

A realist :) PM me, please, when there is a no-fly zone over Ukraine, or when NATO pushes back. LOL xD

Until then, I'm off to check my war-time supplies. It is evident now how it will all end. Till later.

According to BBC:

"Oligarchs' homes could be used to house refugees in the UK
The homes of sanctions oligarchs could be used to house refugees from the war in Ukraine, a top UK minister says."

That would be cool - I'm all for it, hehe! :D 👏

@amiga500
Not playing it down at all. Just dont want the trolls to make false claims. No NATO is just that. If OSCE observers were killed this could escalate things. My opinion is that we should just go in and say F it. Go in hard and kill as many Russians as we can. Only way to beat a bully is to punch him in the mouth.

I ignore the ruski trolls but maybe this message From Chopin's diary in 1830 might hit home to Novi. I doubt it tho, he is too child dementia troll and set in his ways.

Go in hard and kill as many Russians as we can. Only way to beat a bully is to punch him in the mouth.

Exactly. Totally agree. Now is our perfect chance, they are weak. The school yard bully has been at it too long and it's time he got his comeuppance. We have faith. It's on the way.

Going full in could start a bigger war. I doubt NATO wants that. And I doubt NATO would be ready mentally to do that for a non-NATO member. I do think we should make everything possible to help Ukraine and make Russia regret this invasion, so they wouldn't try doing it again not only with Ukraine, but with other countries too. The invasion on Ukraine should be a wake up call and a turning point.

No, it is an organization Russia once helped to found.

@Paulina
While I agree it could start an all out war in Europe, I do not believe it will. Russia's army is neither prepared or equipped for it. The time is right to kill the Russian bear now. End it once and for all. Not invade Russia, just push them all the way back behind their borders and leave them there. All sanctions in place until Putin is dead, and then they don't think of lifting them until Russia pays for Ukraine to be rebuilt. You can not have a turn the other cheek mentality with a bully, and you can not simply say it's not our fight. Either Ukraine is European or they are Russia, this is the only question. One answer means we have a moral obligation to help our neighbor and the other means we stay out of the family fight all together. There is no middle ground in my opinion.

If NATO gets involved here's the prediction by Captain Tom Clonan (former Irish Defence Forces). He's been spot on so far in his analyses:

"Russia's capacity to mount an effective ground campaign has been shown to be highly questionable. In Syria, the ground component of Russia's war consisted mainly of Syrian troops from President Assad's Syrian Arab National Army. Interestingly, Putin has suggested that up to 16,000 such troops have volunteered to fight in Ukraine. If this war does not come to a halt, in a multitude of scenarios, I believe it is inevitable that NATO will eventually become involved in the conflict. In this scenario, with no credible ground component, Russia will respond to a NATO intervention in the only manner open to them - the use of conventional ballistic cruise missiles (with a range of 3000km) against European cities."

This would invite a missile response from NATO with the apocalyptic scenario - raised by Putin himself - of a thermonuclear response. The use of a tactical nuclear weapon in Europe - however small - would change Europe forever. NATO must avoid - at all costs - declaring war on Russia. If Russia attacks NATO, we will enter a crisis with the potential for mutually assured destruction."

Paulina
13 Mar 2022  #5029

@Atch, as for the conventional ballistic cruise missiles attack against European cities - I doubt it, to be honest. That could happen if NATO forces entered Russia, but not Ukraine, imho. Still, I doubt the West is mentally ready to put boots on the ground in Ukraine. Things didn't escalate to such an extent in Ukraine for that to happen and better Putin don't escalate things to such an extent that it will happen...

For example, Lviv is not only a cultural hub, but it used to be a "Polish" city. The historical heart of the city, with its old buildings and cobblestone streets, survived Soviet and German occupations during World War II largely unscathed. If Russians started shelling Lviv, destroying it, I think it could p*ss Poles off and more volunteers from Poland could join the Ukrainian side then.

And generally, the more cruel and destructive the Russians are going to be in Ukraine the more NATO will be getting involved, I guess.

A New York Times journalist has been killed and another injured by Russians in Irpin according to the head of Kyiv's regional police.

Those rockets killed NATO personnel

Ukrainians were trained there by NATO instructors, the question is whether foreigners were killed because the number is increasing. It is also possible that foreign volunteers were gathering there, it is close to the Polish border, it has a solid infrastructure... I mean, we can only assume at this point.

Today I am receiving the x-th notification from the BBC, CNN, Guardian about the rocketing of that military base near Lviv, very uncharacteristic. So far, the dead have not been counted in this way, especially when attacking a military target. I assume that some consequences are expected and that the story will be further developed, otherwise it would not be so much emphasized.

The Russians definitely hit something here that hurt a lot. I see 35 dead and 134 wounded in the attack so far, which means that the base was full of troops. Blackwaters or foreign volunteers. No one will cry for them. Sleepy Joe will have big problems if there were US instructors.

Volunteers and foreign mercenaries are not important, they are a small inventory. The problem is US instructors. If they are among the victims then Joe has to explain what they were doing there. At the same time, the Republicans will be breaking him because he did not avenge "our boys".

I don't know if you follow US politics, I've been following a bit in the last 3-4 weeks, there is a constant political war there. Republicans are with populism hitting on the Democrats and Joe Biden from anything and everything.

You really are an ignorant lump aren't you? The instructors who work there on a regular basis are not just from the USA! They come from any different countries including Poland.

A guy in Kherson (a journalist, I guess?) is trying to ask (as far as I understand) Russian truck drivers and soldiers why they aren't opening humanitarian corridors and letting the humanitarian aid into Kherson... He's saying something about children in hospitals, I think... But they don't answer his questions - the drivers hide in their trucks lol and the soldiers tell him not to record the video:

The problem is US instructors. If they are among the victims then Joe has to explain what they were doing there.

Why would he have to explain anything? US and other NATO instructors have been training Ukrainians for quite some time now, so there's nothing new here.

Why is that funny? Those people can be shot. They already have troops that stop Russian soldiers from falling back/

While a reporter being killed is a travesty it is not enough to bring in NATO. That said, the Russians sent about 30 bombs on this one run to the base, which means they saw it as a key position. Now if there were NATO forces, and it has been very quiet from NATO, this could be a calm before a storm. The US did scap any plans to send more trainers back in December, so its unlikely any official US forces were there, and if there were volunteers, then that is still not enough. It is unusually quiet from NATO today though.

While a reporter being killed

His name was Brent Renaud RIP He was an award winning documentary maker.

A little glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. Apparently progress is being made in talks between Russia and Ukraine according to both sides. But we'll see whether the Russians say the exact opposite five minutes from now.
